Biggest Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games

The Switch 2 had a good, successful first year with great first-party choices, incl Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananaand even something more niche like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. Then there were good third-party ports that Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionand Yakuza 0 Director's Cut. 2026 and beyond also has some great first-party and third-party content on the horizon.

Gamers can look forward to everything from platformers to shooters to RPGs on the Switch 2, and some of these will launch sooner rather than later. So anyone with a Switch 2 wondering what they can get excited about, which could be huge deals on the level Clair Obscur: Expedition 33these are the games to keep on the wish list.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade

This next Switch 2 version won't add much new, but it's impressive to run so well on the console, based on the demo that's out there now. This action RPG remake of the Midgar part of Final Fantasy 7 already impressed gamers in 2020, and it could be big again on a new set of consoles.

Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem The Switch 2 release might not be as good as the other consoles, but in any case, it's a hugely hyped game since the last main release was in 2021. The plot of this one revolves around a new character, Grace, who goes to Raccoon City to investigate a series of murders.

Her episode will rely on exploration and hiding, while Leon's episode will be more action-based. The return of a beloved favorite like Leon should keep the hype train blowing smoke all the way to its February release date.

Pokemon Pokopia looks strange Pokémon spinoff, but it also has an intriguing premise. A Ditto has lost its trainer, so in the meantime it turns into a human to help take care of the Pokémon on this deserted island.

Players can learn moves like Ditto, such as ways to cut grass or water crops from other Pokémon in this building sim. It may not reach the heights of Minecraft in terms of popularity or creative options, but the odd shape of Ditto alone makes this game exciting.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is an upcoming turn-based RPG that differs from the usual action-based titles. Players will be able to steal monster eggs, hatch them as their own, and then take them into battle alongside other hunters out there.

Like previous titles, there will be a semi-open world to explore, which can be improved via mounts. There may also be some montage-based action, based on the footage shown in the trailers. Mysteries will be solved within months, and this could be the post that changes everything.

Pragmatics

Hacking Battles

Pragmatics is an upcoming new game from Capcom, featuring a space explorer, Hugh, and a little girl he discovers, whom he names Diana. She is an android that can hack the various robotic enemies that players encounter, but Hugh can also shoot enemies.

The game has been around for a long time since it was first shown off in 2020, alongside the PS5 for the first time. So, needless to say, Pragmatics has been cooking, but hopefully it's a good thing, resulting in another great new franchise from Capcom.

007 First light

It's been a long time since a new James Bond title was released, and 007 First light takes things back to basics with a younger, fresh-from-the-academy version of the beloved action spy. There will be a stealth mission that involves many ways to deal with guards in a non-lethal manner.

Players will be able to crouch through bushes, climb through windows, and there will even be driving segments. Since it's IO Interactive, players can be sure of the polish this game will get, based on their work on the open structure of the last Hitman game.

Duskbloods

Bloodborne 2*

Duskbloods will be exclusive to Switch 2, and is the next game developed by FromSoftware. It looks like a spiritual successor to Blood bornewhich came out in 2015, thanks to the gothic setting and the costume design of the characters.

Beyond the hack-and-slash nature of typical Soulslikes, there are some interesting powers introduced in the first trailer, like turning into a T. rex head to bite enemies. So far, it seems like there will be a greater emphasis on PvP-style gameplay, but most details about this game are still unclear, so it could be more than that.

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

Fire emblem is another series that fans have been waiting to see for a while, but Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave should arrive sometime in 2026. Only one trailer has been shown so far, and it looks like it will feature a broad cast set in a Roman coliseum.

While most of the battles in the trailer are in this Coliseum, there are others in the fields as well. Gameplay is similar to other entries in this tactical RPG series, complete with weapon choices, classes, and specials. How this ties into the larger franchise is a good question that players will have to wait for.

Orbitals

An anime for two players

For the co-op enthusiasts in the crowd, Orbitals looks like it could be next It takes two phenomenon, and it's not just because it's a co-op-only game. The visuals alone help it stand out as it's drawn like an 80s or 90s anime, complete with a grainy filter. Players will each command an explorer, Maki or Omura, who will try to prevent their station from falling victim to some kind of threat.

So far, flight, spaceship, and run-and-gun sections have been shown, and it will be interesting to see how much variety the final game will have compared to other co-op-only games.

My The Hollowers

A Retro Zelda-like

Mine the Hollower was supposed to launch on most major platforms in October 2025, but then it was quietly delayed to a new, unspecified date. Hopefully that means it will be here sooner rather than later as the previous demos already felt fully featured. The game itself is a spiritual homage to the action-adventure games of the Game Boy era, which The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

As Mina, players can attack enemies with a variety of weapons, dig underground, and level up. This will be the successor to Yacht Club Games Spade Knightso the pressure is on to impress.
