LEGO reveals upcoming Pokemon sets

LEGO and The Pokemon Company is officially revealing the first ever sets coming very soon in 2026, while also announcing a special trainer challenge for fans to also participate in. The LEGO brand continues its massive popularity, thanks to the continued release of new collections and sets, many of which crossover with well-known IPs and franchises. Fans have already seen plenty of announcements for sets featuring The Lord of the Rings, Harry PotterMarvel and much more.

In fact, Nintendo has continued to branch out with the LEGO brand, with a number of major collaborations planned for 2026. Last year, fans saw a tease for a new The Legend of Zelda The LEGO set will launch in 2026, although details are still very slim. Animal Crossing also sees another set launch in 2026, although the arrival of a smaller 'polybag' set has left many a little underwhelmed. But for many fans, the biggest news was the confirmation of a new partnership between LEGO and The Pokemon Company, with the two companies finally showing off the new sets that will be available very soon.

LEGO announces first Pokemon sets for 2026

While numerous LEGO Pokemon leaks have likely taken some of the surprise out of these sets, fans now have the official announcement and details to look at, as well as confirmed prices and a release date for each set. LEGO Pokemon Pikachu and Poke Ball

The first set to be revealed is of one of the most recognizable creatures from the franchise, Pikachu. It's a 2,050-piece set that features Pikachu jumping out of the Pokeball and comes with a black lightning rod-shaped base and lightning energy emitting from the Pokeball. Fans can also pose Pikachu either in a “dynamic battle pose” or in a more seated pose with a closed Pokeball.

The set also comes with a few Easter eggs for fans to discover, including a “25” displayed on the base, representing Pikachu's PokeDex number from Pokémon franchise. The set costs $199.99.

LEGO Pokemon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise

The second set highlights the evolved versions of the three starting pocket monsters from the original Pokemon Red and Blue game. This impressively huge set comes with a whopping 6,838 LEGO pieces and allows the builder to either place them all together on an action base or individually. The action base itself also has additional design details based on each Pokémon's biome, such as a wave for Blastoise, a flower garden for Venusaur, and some sort of volcano or magma perch for Charizard.

However, the post is quick to mention that in addition to the faithfully captured design, each model also has its own unique articulation, with arms, tails, and more that can be positioned by the builder. This one will also be quite expensive at $649.99, but it will also come with a special pre-order bonus from the LEGO Pokemon Kanto Region Badge Collection as well.

LEGO Pokémon Eevee

The final confirmed set is of the normal type Evolution Pokémon known as Eevee. Eevee is the smallest of the trio of sets and only has 587 pieces, but like the other sets it has a moveable tail, head and limbs so the builder can pose it however they want. Eevee can also be built using the Build Together app, so friends and family can work together with it.

The smaller set also means a much smaller price tag, as this one comes in at a much more affordable $59.99 USD.

Trainer Challenge

In addition to the announced lineups, the post also kicked off a special Scavenger Hunt for fans to take part in. From January 12 to February 27, fans can try to find hidden LEGO Pokémon clues across both LEGO and LEGO digital content and websites. Pokémonwhich unlock rewards with some bigger prizes on the line, including the three sets above. However, the grand prize winner will be invited to PokemonXP and Pokemon World Cup 2026 in San Francisco.

Interested fans can pre-order the sets now before each of the collections go on sale on February 27, 2026. Given how highly anticipated these sets were and how quickly new Pokemon Trading Card Game expansions have usually sold out online, it stands to reason that the demand for these collections can be very high.
