It's been a somewhat shaky year for developer/publisher Ubisoft. After a tough 2024 that saw big titles like Star Wars Outlaws and Skull and bones failing to meet internal expectations, early 2025 didn't fare much better, with the publisher's February 2025 financial report confirming a 31.4% drop in revenue. For a while there, things looked pretty bleak for Ubisoft's future, but according to Ubisoft's November financial report, things may not be as bad as they seem, with Assassin's Creed still proving its worth.
It may have met with a somewhat mixed reception from fans, though Assassin's Creed Shadows received very favorable reviews from many critics when it launched back in March 2025, and it currently holds a top 81 critic average on OpenCritic. Assassin's Creed Shadows also “outperformed” in terms of sales according to Ubisoft's November financial report, as did Legacy Assassin's Creed titles, with the entire franchise collectively generating “211 million session days.” With the future of many of its franchises unclear, Ubisoft seems more likely than ever to go all-in Assassin's Creedand that could mean a busy 2026 for the popular stealth-action series.
I just platinumed the most overlooked Assassin's Creed, and I think it's a must play before the Black Flag remake
On my journey to Platinum, I just finished one of the series' most overlooked entries in all of the Assassin's Creed games, and it's begging to be replayed.
What to expect from Assassin's Creed Shadows 2026
Despite apparently being a huge success for the publisher, Ubisoft has confirmed it Assassin's Creed Shadows will no longer receive a second expansion. Back in November, Assassin's Creed Shadows associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois said in an interview with JorRaptor that “there is no expansion the size of Awaji that is planned.”
While a second full-size expansion may not be on the cards for Assassin's Creed Shadowsthere is a possibility that it may continue to receive updates and new content drops on a smaller scale in 2026, similar to its last Attack on TitanThemed crossover missions. Fans who picked up Assassin's Creed Shadows on the Nintendo Switch 2 can probably also expect some updates in the coming months to improve the game's performance on the handheld hybrid.
All officially confirmed Assassin's Creed projects that could appear in 2026
Netflix's Assassin's Creed Live-Action Adaptation – Likely to Release in 2026
First announced in 2020, the partnership between Netflix and Assassin's Creed seems to be finally coming into its own. A live action Assassin's Creed The series is officially underway on Netflix, with Roberto Patino and David Wiener both on board as showrunners and executive producers. Just a few weeks ago, Netflix also officially confirmed that Laura Marcus, Zachary Hart, Toby Wallace and Lola Petticrew are joining the cast, suggesting that the show is gaining traction behind the scenes.
While Netflix is Assassin's Creed Live-action adaptation has no release window and filming likely won't start for a while, it's likely that fans will get another update on the show before 2026 ends. More specifically, fans can probably expect to hear more casting announcements for at least the next 12 months.
Assassin's Creed Jade – likely to appear in 2026
Announced at the same Ubisoft Forward Showcase in September 2022 as AAssassin's Creed Witch, Assassin's Creed Infinityand Assassin's Creed Shadows (then known as Codename Red), Assassin's Creed Jade will be the franchise's first full-fledged foray into the world of mobile gaming. Despite being announced over three years ago and undergoing several rounds of closed alpha and beta testing, Assassin's Creed Jade still has no concrete release date.
However, considering how long the game has been in development, it seems likely that fans will hear something official about Assassin's Creed Jade soon. Although Ubisoft skipped its annual Forward showcase in 2025, it's possible that it could return in the summer of 2026 given the number of projects confirmed and rumored to be in the works. If a Ubisoft Forward Showcase happens in 2026, it seems likely Assassin's Creed Jade appears, possibly next to a release window.
Assassin's Creed Hexe — May be released in 2026
Also announced in September 2022, even less of Assassin's Creed Hex has been shown over the past three years. Aside from the first teaser trailer hinting at a 17th-century Germanic setting and occult themes, nothing official has come from Assassin's Creed Hex since 2022. That said, some leaks from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson surfaced back in March 2025, claiming that Witch will not release before the rumor Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake and Assassin's Creed Invictus.
Given the lack of concrete information about Assassin's Creed Hexit's hard to predict when/if it will eventually be released or even when fans will see it next. But if the development has gone smoothly, fans can at least see a reveal trailer Witchs characters and settings in 2026, likely during a Ubisoft Forward event.
Assassin's Creed Invictus — could appear in 2026
Although it did not appear in the September 2022 Ubisoft Forward Showcase, Assassin's Creed Invictus was mentioned for the first time on the same day via an interview with Assassin's Creed Vice President Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté. The only official information fans know Invictus is that it will be a multiplayer focused project. About like Witchthere has been no official hint of a release window for Witch or a suggestion of how far along in development it might be.
That said, back in March 2025 Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson claimed that Assassin's Creed Invictus was slated for a 2025 release. While the game apparently didn't launch in 2025, Henderson's leak would suggest that it's almost done. Barring any significant internal delays, it seems possible that fans may finally get to see Assassin's Creed Invictus 2026, if not in its full form, then at least via a debut trailer.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake – likely to be revealed in 2026
Widely known as the worst kept secret in gaming right now Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake has still not been officially announced by Ubisoft, but its existence has been leaked countless times over the past few years. The latest set of leaks came in November and December 2025, then Assassin's Creed Black Flag resync appeared on the official PEGI ratings website, and when Insider Gaming's Grant Taylor-Hill claimed the long-rumored remake could arrive as early as March 2026.
Of course, all rumors and leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, but that Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake really seems to be a matter of when and not if at this point, given how often it's been leaked over the years. Even if it doesn't release this year, it seems very likely that Ubisoft will at least officially announce it Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake 2026.
New Mainline Assassin's Creed RPG – Probably not revealed in 2026
As you can see from this list, Ubisoft already has its plate full in development Assassin's Creed project. Even so, recent job postings (November 2025) suggest that Ubisoft Quebec may be on the job with a new Assassin's Creed RPG post already. But given how fresh these job postings are, fans probably won't see Quebec's next Assassin's Creed RPG 2026.
