Pokemon fans have always felt the heat when it comes to going up against Fire-types, and in Pokemon Legends: ZA you'll find no shortage of fiery friends to catch, train, evolve, and take with you on your adventures across Lumiose City from the Kalos region in generation six.
There are dozens of Fire-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: ZA between the base game and the Mega Dimension DLC, but which ones will prove to be most worthy of your efforts? You'll find plenty of Pokemon with weaknesses to the strength of Fire-types, so it's best to catch those Fire-type Pokemon early.
Talonflame
While we're a little bummed that the burning Pokemon was left off the list of 'mon that got Mega Evolutions added in both Pokemon Legends: ZA and the DLC for Mega Dimensions, we're still big fans of Talonflame even if it can't go Mega (yet – we're not giving up hope!).
The best catches in each wild zone in Pokemon Legends: ZA
You should probably still catch them all, of course, but if you have to focus on one of them…
If you're looking for a safe, stable, early-game Fire-type to help you develop your teams (especially if you didn't choose Tepig as your starter for your Lumiose adventure), Talonflame is a great bet! Catch any Fletchling in town and level it up into one of the awesome Fire/Flying Pokemon you can hope for.
Armarogue
If you're one of the many Pokemon fans who recently fell in love with the Charcadet evolution line in the Scarlet and Violet titles, then you're no doubt eager to see them return in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: ZA as well. Work to capture a Charcadet from one of the Dimensional Rifts and evolve it into Armarouge to enjoy the dual Fire/Psychic type Pokémon.
The type combination means you'll be exposed to a lot of damage from special attacks, so it's wise to try to buff this stat for your Armarouge whenever possible. Be sure to give it Plus Moves to give it an even more powerful (psychic) power!
Ceruledge
If you'd rather turn that hard-earned Charcadet into a Ghost dual-type instead of a Psychic, then you'll instead be able to evolve it into Ceruledge and enjoy the monstrous grandeur it brings to the battlefield. While Armarouge wins out in terms of defensive abilities, offensive players may want to lean more towards Ceruledge instead.
Even if it doesn't get a Mega Evolution form here, we still won't miss its power. It's a physical attacker over special attacks, so keep this distinction in mind when building up its moveset with strong options like Flare Blitz, Bitter Blade, and more. Your double stack of immunities to normal and ground moves really can't hurt either!

We always love to see how the Pokemon team comes up with creative ways to mix spells, so seeing a Fire and Ghost-type in Chandelure is always a treat — as long as you're not on the other side of the battlefield, that is. The Luring Pokémon received a Mega Evolution form in Pokemon Legends: ZA, and it's packed with power.
Grab Chandelurite from Quasartico Inc. HQ after hitting Rank D in ZA Royale after defeating Ivor for glory (you've likely caught a Litwick down in the sewers below Lumiose City, anyway), and double down on finding a Dusk Stone so you can use one of the best Fire-type Pokémon in Legends: ZA as soon as possible.

It's always interesting when Pokémon have typings that would make them weak to themselves, in theory, but Scovillain returns from the last generation of Pokémon to make another fiery splash, this time with a new Mega Evolution form that's sure to terrify.
You'll have to fight this picante Pokémon as a rogue battle in a dimensional rift before you can claim its peppery power, but once you've defeated it, caught it, and grabbed the Scovillainite that helps you summon that same mighty power, you'll get all kinds of great perks from the Spicy Pepper Pokémon.

After you help the sick Fennekin as one of the side quests when you first arrive in Lumiose City and drop the bars that come with playing out the Pokemon Legends: ZA tutorial, it will eagerly join your party in return for the effort, and you'll earn yourself a powerful new Pokemon friend for the effort.
Evolve your Fennekin all the way to its final form of Delphox, and you'll enjoy a more unique type combination with its dual Fire and Psychic types. All but means you're locked into being a Special Attacker, but with such an impressive base stat it probably won't be a problem for you and Delphox even before you've had it evolve into its Mega form.

Everyone loves an adorable little Fire starter in Pokemon games, but it's not surprising to see them grow into fearsome forms in their final evolution, and that's where you'll find Tepig's final form, Emboar. But what it loses in sweetness as it develops, it more than makes up for in sheer strength.
This type of fire/fighting could potentially be with you from the start of your second foray into Kalos here in Pokemon Legends: ZA, if you had chosen Tepig at the start of the game, and that means Emboar will be one of your very first experiences using Mega Evolution to make your Pokemon pack an even more powerful punch/

Added in the Mega Dimensions DLC for Pokemon Legends: ZA were several of the other newbies from iconic generations of Pokemon games, and everyone's favorite dual-type Fire and Fighting chicken Pokemon are back again to keep kicking some ass on the battlefield.
Once you earn your stripes and catch a Blaziken of your own, you have one of the most iconic dual-type Pokémon around. It's the one that cemented the standard evolution of Fire/Fighting endstarts that we only occasionally seem to break from in mainline Pokémon games, but if you're looking for a good balance of hot fire and hot moves, look no further.

The original Fire starter Charizard has been and will likely remain one of the very best Fire-type Pokémon that no one has ever been. It's been a fierce fighter since the very first generation of games, and should you pick a Charmander from the Side Mission where Mable gives you a Kanto starter, you're on your way to one of the best.
Not only is Charizard powerful in its regular base form, but it has two distinct Mega Evolution forms in Charizard X and Charizard Y. If you're looking to double down on Special Attack and remain primarily Fire moves, Charizard Y might be your best bet, as Charizard X specifies more in the physical Attack stat instead.
