LEGO fans may see an Astro Bot set in the near future

LEGO fans can lend their support to release a future Astro Bot set through the LEGO Ideas program. Astro Bot previously won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024 and has become a popular IP among PlayStation fans, potentially requiring a LEGO set with sufficient support.

Astro Bot was released back in September 2024 to critical acclaim, earning a 95 Critic Average Score on OpenCritic and securing four wins at The Game Awards 2024, including the awards for Best Family Game, Best Action/Adventure Game, Best Game Direction and the coveted Game of the Year. The exclusive PlayStation 5 platformer took the adorable robot mascot and titular hero to a variety of unique levels while incorporating clever use of PlayStation hardware both in the game's universe and in the player's hands. Astro Bot also includes various collectible PlayStation bots to give the game a nostalgic boost.

Astro Bot New Levels July 2025

Astro Bot fans who would like to see a future LEGO set based on the PS5 game can support the product through the LEGO Ideas program. The “Astro Bot (And Friends)” set was introduced as a LEGO idea on December 23, 2025 by creator BlueSpaceship21 and has already gained over 1,600 backers, giving it 601 days to reach the next benchmark of 5,000 backers and extend the qualifying period. The LEGO Ideas program allows fan creators to pitch ideas for new sets, which other fans can support, and will be considered for full production if the idea reaches 10,000 supporters.

The LEGO set would also include several Astro Bot enemies, such as:

  • Boopee

  • Jab Jab

  • Chopper

  • Voltee

  • Gloopy

With all these characters included, this Astro Bot set would give LEGO fans a well-rounded representation of the 2024 games. The only thing it really lacks is something of Astro Bots PlayStation Bots as a fun easter egg for fans, and maybe the villainous Nebulax as well.

PlayStation and LEGO have a history of collaboration

Even with a boost to get Astro Bot (And Friends) set to over 1.6k supporters in less than a week since its idea campaign went live, a Astro Bot set seems like a no-brainer for LEGO and PlayStation. Astro Bot has seemingly become the new face of PlayStation in recent years, even heralding the launch of the PlayStation 5 with Astro's playroom included free with the console. And this LEGO set wouldn't be the first from a PlayStation series either.

LEGO Horizon Adventures Robot Encounter

The Horizon the series has already seen a few LEGO sets, including the Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck set and the LEGO Horizon Adventures Aloy and Varl vs. Shell-Walker Sawtooth Set. The latter of these sets is also based on LEGO Horizon Adventures game, which was released in November 2024 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC, and shows a continued partnership between PlayStation and LEGO that could lay the groundwork for future collaborations between the two companies.

To show their support for the creation of the Astro Bot (And Friends) LEGO set, fans simply need to log into their LEGO Ideas account and click the “support” button on this idea. The campaign must reach 5,000 supporters within the next 601 days to remain active, so all LEGO or Astro Bot fans who want to see this set eventually become a reality should show their support.
