The iconic survival horror series Silent Hill has seen a remarkable renaissance in recent years, following the successful launch of Silent Hill 2 remake and successful debut of a new feature Silent Hill band the next project to join the series may launch much sooner than many expected. Latest comments from Silent Hill Series producer Motoi Okamoto has revealed an annual release schedule that could mean the mysterious Silent Hill: Townfallthe remake of the original Silent Hilland even several unannounced games could come as early as 2026 and every year thereafter.
When Konami first announced that a remake of the Silent Hill 2 was under development, the audience was tentatively excited. The revelation came along with a confirmation of that Silent Hill: The Short Message and Silent Hill: Ascension would be the next major Silent Hill project for fans to enjoy. After both of these releases were met with mixed responses, many were concerned that Silent Hill 2 remake would also not live up to expectations. However, the remake managed to impress veteran and first-time fans alike, and has been hailed by many as a “return to form” for the franchise. Silent Hill b followed, also receiving praise and a number of awards within the horror gaming communities, leaving many with high expectations for both the mysterious Townfall and Bloober Teams Silent Hill remake. While very little is currently known about these two titles, a statement from Motoi Okamoto may have just revealed potential release windows.

Bloober Team, the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, is sharing fresh details about its upcoming projects, including four new games.
Konami wants to release Silent Hill games every year
During a New Year's interview conducted by the Japanese media Famitsu, Silent Hill Series producer Motoi Okamoto stated that Konami is currently aiming to release one Silent Hill games every year, which is a plan that began with the launch of Silent Hill 2 remake 2024. The subsequent release of Silent Hill b 2025 was the first to follow this annual release schedule, and this seemingly inconsequential comment may have only confirmed earlier rumors of Silent Hill: Townfall release date. A French fan site reportedly leaked March 26, 2026, as the release date for Silent Hill: Townfalland if Konami wants to keep its annual release schedule, it seems to confirm Townfall for 2026. Bloober's Silent Hill remake is the only other officially announced project, so audiences may now be able to anticipate a 2027 release window for that game.
An important point to note is Okamoto's mention that “unannounced titles” are also in the mix, which could indicate that smaller games such as The short message could be freed up to fill in any gaps while larger projects are being worked on. Okamoto admits that Konami is not entirely sure if they will be able to achieve this ambitious goal of releasing one Silent Hill games every year, but the company wants to “keep the momentum going Silent Hill constant.” It's also worth mentioning that Konami works with multiple developers on each of its various projects, and that can help ensure that the annual releases stay on track. Bloober Team handles the remakes, NeoBards worked on and releases updates for Silent Hill band the British indie studio Screen Burn is responsible for Townfall.
It seems Silent Hill fans will have plenty of new games to look forward to, although many are tired of Konami's plan to release a new title every year. Some gamers have already likened the decision to Ubisoft's run from 2009-2015 Assassin's Creedwhich saw buggy launches and disastrous releases such as Assassin's Creed: Unity. There is currently no way of knowing Silent Hill franchise will really go the same way as AC with their annual launches or if smaller games can help meet timeline expectations while giving the bigger games the time needed to avoid disastrous debuts. Again, the multiple studio partners could be a saving grace for Konami, but only time will tell if the plan to have a new Silent Hill games every year will even come true, let alone if each release will be what fans hope for.
