For the most part, Arc Raiders is a pretty serious game. It's all about infiltrating a hostile environment full of deadly robots and other players out to betray you, but that doesn't mean developer Embark Studios can't be a little whimsical here and there. We all know the game's love of rubber ducks, and when the game first launched you couldn't move players messing around with flutes.

Almost two months after the game's release, Arc Raiders now has a new musical instrument for players to mess around with, this time an acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, actually getting hold of this instrument proves to be too much of a task for many people, as it requires solving a rather complicated puzzle involving over a dozen random buttons located throughout the buried city.

All you really have to do is activate all of these buttons in the correct order, but if you press the wrong one, the whole puzzle will reset. Not too bad, you might think, but you're playing a multiplayer game, remember. Not only are there mourners to contend with, but you can always just have some nosy bozo drop by and hit a random button to reset your progress.

As a result, the Arc Raiders subreddit is full of horror stories about actually trying to get hold of this acoustic guitar. For example, a user named Iki-u claims to have spent “9 hours straight” trying to complete the puzzle. In the responses, they go on to admit that they were “very pissed off” about the challenge, but it was “worth all the pain”.

Another user named Teeeeedot admits they spent eight hours getting it too, while less resilient players like Any-Value1142 gave up due to random players beating the puzzle before they could complete it. What's even funnier is that you have tons of people admitting to pressing random buttons they found, not knowing what they had even done. Now they know they most likely ruined someone's day.

It's such a rough puzzle that many claim it's probably impossible to do completely solo, but if you don't have any friends, and you're willing to get your hands dirty, there's a very easy way to get the guitar. As pointed out by a Reddit user named Thomass2s, all you really need to do is follow the sound of an acoustic guitar and dome the person you see holding one. Sure, you're a horrible person and I don't know how you could sleep at night, but hey, you'd have a guitar!
