Borderlands 4 players have a new ECHO-4 Drone skin to pick up right now by redeeming a SHIFT code on the SHIFT website. The latest giveaway is part of Borderlands 4s “12 Days of Mercenary Day” promotion, where Gearbox is giving out free goodies to players during the holiday season.
SHIFT codes are Gearbox's way of delivering free in-game content to players. They are usually used to give out Golden Keys in Borderlands 4which can then be redeemed in-game for loot in Golden Chests. However, the developer has also used them to give out limited-time cosmetics, which are only available to players who redeem SHIFT codes before they expire. Cosmetic giveaways are more rare, so it's always worth grabbing them when they're available.

It started with the following SHIFT code: J9XTB-SJWS3-WRTTC-BJTJJ-TH6TX. The reward is the “A Winter Borderland” ECHO-4 Drone skin, which gives the robot an all-white appearance. Players can redeem the code with a linked SHIFT account on the SHIFT website or in-game via the SHIFT menu. According to Gearbox, the code will remain active until December 31, 2030, so players don't need to be in too much of a hurry to get this for free Borderlands 4 skin.
