Fishing is a staple mechanic in many RPGs, and it is often considered a player's most loved or most hated way to farm resources. IN The ashes of creationthere's no mini-game to perform while fishing, and no annoying tricks with timing.
Fishing is one of those gathering professions that can make you money, especially if you specialize in a couple of professions and level up your crafter. Here's everything you need to know about fishing in Ashes Of Creation, including how to catch fish and all available fish.
Ashes Of Creation is currently in alpha stages, so some of these details may change with future updates.
How to catch fish in the ashes of creation
You have all the tools to harvest resources from the beginning after meeting an NPC for a main quest in the first village you come to. This is also when you get your mount. Your fishing rod will be among them Craft toolsalong with an axe, a scythe, a hoe and a hunter's bow. With most resource harvesting, like chopping down trees, you can start work just by approaching the item and pressing F. With fishing, however, it's different.
If you want to start fishing, you can't just approach a body of water and press F. Instead, follow these steps:
-
Open your Skill tree by pressing K and going to the skill book.
-
Scroll down to Craftsman section.
-
Find Fishing.
-
Click and drag the fishing icon to action bar at the bottom of the screen.
-
When you are near a body of water, click on the fishing icon in your action bar to start fishing.
There are three types of fishing: low risk/reward AFK Fishingmedium risk/reward Freshwater sport fishing and high risk/reward Sport fishing in the open sea. Different types of fishing attract different types of fish. The difference between open sea and regular sport fishing is the level of risk.
Ashes Of Creation: Class Tier List
Should you choose an elf over a human? Or would an orc be best in Ashes Of Creation?
Open-Sea Sport Fishing is located in lawless PvP locations in the seaand can be very risky when competing with other players and the natural world. Freshwater Sport Fishing is based inland, in much safer spaces where you can fish in boats with your friends or other players without the risk of being blown out of the water.
With AFK Fishingyou don't have to try to cast your line at a specific fishing spot or complete a mini-game; you just click fish and your character reels in fish.
With both types of Sports fishingyou need equipment to complete a simple fishing mini-game and get rewards that are very rare. To sport fish, you need to spot areas in the water where the birds circle and dive. Toss the chum into the water and watch to see where the fish start to bubble with movement. Cast in your line and wait for them to bite, then follow the on-screen instructions to reel in the fish:
- Ease your fishing line if the fish moves away too quickly.
-
Pull the bar left or Right to counteract the fish swimming in the other direction.
-
Use Fast roll to reel in the fish if it swims up.
-
Use Slow Reel to reel in the fish if it swims down.
Sport fishing requires a boat, bait and a fishing rod with bait of choice.
