ZA DLC skips Flygon Mega Evolution

Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC.While the new Pokemon Legends: ZA expansion, Mega Dimension, added some new Mega Evolution forms, the DLC unfortunately left Mega Flygon off the list despite requests from trainers over the years. While some animals like Chimecho and Raichu gained new forms Pokemon Legends: ZA via DLC, Flygon's fans will have to keep waiting.

Flygon, known as the Mystic Pokémon, first appeared in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. It is the fully evolved form of Trapinch and Vibrava, and is a dual-type Earth and Dragon monster that can whip up sandstorms with its wings. With the Levitate ability, the Pokemon becomes immune to ground-type attacks, increasing its resistance to types like Poison and Fire. Flygon is particularly weak to Ice-type attacks, but its balanced stats and high HP make it a formidable and versatile Pokémon to build around. Unfortunately, even with the addition of recurring pocket monsters like Farfetch'd and Mime Jr. in the Mega Dimension DLC, Flygon is one of several Pokémon still missing from Pokemon Legends: ZA which also appeared in Pokemon X and Y.

While other Hoenn Pokemon like Chimecho received a Mega Evolution form in the Mega Dimension DLC, Flygon was unfortunately overlooked by The Pokemon Company. The omission did not go unnoticed Pokemon Legends: ZA players, as some took to the game's subreddit to make light of the situation. A post by Salty145 highlighted how the colors of the Scovillainite Mega Stone had a similar appearance to Flygon's green and red color palette. The Redditor went on to shed light on how Pokémon fans have wanted Flygon to get a Mega Evolution for years, only for the newer Scovillain, who first appeared in Pokemon Scarlet and Violetto instead get a new form. Other Paldean Pokemon that received Mega Evolutions in the Mega Dimension expansion include Baxcalibur, Glimmora, and Tatsugiri.

In response, Pokémon fans chimed in by telling how some monsters like Garchomp got a second Mega Evolution form, namely Mega Garchomp Z, while Flygon remained absent from the new expansion. While Flygon's continued exclusion from the game is unfortunate, it unfortunately has some precedence. While datamining for the Mega Dimension DLC, Pokémon the fans revealed no evidence that Flygon would be included Pokemon Legends: ZAlet alone receive a Mega Evolution. Flygon's last performance remains Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwhere it could be found in Terrarium's Savanna Biome after purchasing The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. Ergo, fans hoping for Flygon to get a power-up from The Pokemon Company will have to keep waiting.

But Flygon was shut out Pokemon Legends: ZA and Mega Dimension DLC, the next generation of Pokémon games can offer Mystic Pokémon a new chance to soar. It remains to be seen if Flygon will appear Pokémon Gen 10 or if The Pokemon Company has further surprises in store Pokemon Legends: ZA fans to enjoy.

In Pokemon Legends: ZAs Mega Dimension expansion, trainers who have already beaten the main story in the base game will gain access to new Hyperspace wormholes that appear throughout Lumiose City. These wormholes lead to Hyperspace Lumiose, a parallel facsimile containing powerful Pokémon that can exceed the usual level cap of 100, including Mega Evolution forms such as Mega Absol Z that had not appeared in Pokémon series before. Trainers must ensure that their entire team of available Pokémon is at level 100 and should set aside a lot of time and resources before exploring the various parts of Hyperspace Lumiose that come and go. Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC is currently available for $29.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
