You should add these Mega Dimension Pokemon to your Pokemon Legends: ZA Team ASAP

When you take your first steps into Hyperspace Lumiose during the Pokemon Legends: ZA Mega Dimension DLC, you'll notice plenty of Pokemon roaming around the city for you to catch. While there are many return options, some of the best new Pokemon from Hyperspace Lumiose are worth catching ASAP.

Whether you jump into a Hyperspace Wild Zone or choose to challenge a powerful Rogue Mega Evolution Pokémon, you have powerful options to choose from. We'll take a look at some of the best Pokemon to add to your team ASAP, primarily focused on the earliest encounter with a given evolutionary line.

Scovillain

Scovillain's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Scovillain is a solid Grass and Fire type Pokemon whose Mega Stone can be acquired very early on in your DLC journey, making it a viable choice to take with you throughout the story. Grass and Fire moves are always in demand, and this Pokemon's dual typing helps mitigate some of its weaknesses.

Poison, Flying, and Rock-type weaknesses will be the biggest vulnerabilities to plan around, but these three aren't too many to handle for this Pokemon. Scovillain can be replaced by other powerful Pokémon as you go further into the DLC, but given how early it's available to add to your team, it could prove its worth for the first handful of Hyperspace missions at least.

With the launch of the Mega Dimension DLC, here's how to quickly get Mudkip in Pokemon Legends: ZA, before evolving it into Swampert.

Staraptor

Staraptor's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Staraptor stands out as another early DLC Mega Evolution that you can add to your team right after starting Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No.1. On the plus side, Staraptor's Fighting and Flying typings give it access to some strong moves in the pool, like Close Combat and Brave Bird, although you have to be exceptionally careful about deploying this Pokemon at the right moment.

Mega Staraptor's weaknesses to Electric, Ice, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves make it incredibly vulnerable to a variety of opponents, but if you know what moves your enemy has access to, you can sweep their team. Staraptor's lack of bulk will make it easy to replace it with another option, like Charizard, if you're going for pure meta-viability, but it's a great addition if you're rebuilding your team in Mega Dimension.

Wimpod

Wimpod's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Strong Bug-type Pokemon are incredibly rare in general, but Pokemon Legends: ZA's Pokedex limits your options even more. If you wanted to get a Scizor in the base game, you had to wait until the last part of the story. Fortunately, if you're looking to add a Bug-type to your Mega Dimension-only team, there are a couple of powerful options, notably the Wimpod.

Wimpod likes to run away when approached, so you need to throw your Poke Ball or KO this Pokemon as soon as you see it if you want a chance to catch it.

Level Wimpod up to 30, and you'll have a powerful Golisopod to use on your team, which has access to both Bug-type moves like X-Scissor and U-Turn, as well as Water-type moves like Liquidation. If you're looking for a versatile physical attacker, and you're tired of using the old standards of Water and Bug type Pokemon, then Golisopod is the perfect option to keep things fresh.

Crabominable

Crabominable's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

While it's possible to see either Crabominable or its pre-evolution, Crabrawler, around the same time, you'll eventually have to battle a Crabominable duo to unlock this Pokemon's Mega Stone. Regardless of which order you acquire first, you'll be glad you did after adding this massive Pokémon to your team, thanks to its access to fairly competitive writes in Ice and Fighting.

You'll struggle to find many strong Ice-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: ZA, but Crabominable is an excellent catch-all, thanks to its sky-high Attack and solid Defense that make it difficult to defeat. If you haven't already defeated the Crabominable duo to claim their Mega Stone, you have a very close look at just how difficult this Pokémon can be to defeat, especially given their two-on-one advantage.

Toxel

Toxel's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Toxel is an interesting Pokémon that can evolve into two different forms of Toxtricity (Amped or Low-Key) depending on its nature. Aside from its unusual evolution style, this Pokémon's unusual combination of Poison and Electric-type moves makes it an excellent coverage option that can be used against several common types of Pokémon, including Flying, Fairy, Water, and Grass.

You must pay attention to the Toxel's nature when you capture it; using a Mint will not affect evolution, as it only changes stats, not nature itself.

While you won't be using Toxtricity as a generalist attacker, its typing allows you to change your team composition, as Poison and Electric-type Pokemon usually don't overlap, usually requiring multiple Pokemon to cover those types. Also, Toxtricity is one of the coolest designs added to the Mega Dimension DLC, and style points count too much, given that you can stick with your main game team.

Beginner

Rookidee's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Rookidee is a great addition to get into your team early, as its level 38 evolution will require a few fights or a chunk of EXP candy to evolve it into Corviknight. As a Flying and Steel type Pokémon, Corviknight offers yet another unique type combination that can help open up your team building options while providing plenty of cool factor to go along with its various cover moves.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of Corviknight's unusual typing is its lack of many weaknesses, with Fire and Electric types being the main dangers, making it a safe plug-in for most occasions. Unfortunately, there aren't many great offensive moves in Corviknight's repertoire, but Brave Bird stands out as a top pick thanks to this Pokemon's superior bulk and defensive stats.

Tinkatink

Tintakink's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Speaking of Steel-type Pokémon that negate most of their weaknesses thanks to excellent secondary typing, Tinkatink is a must-have on your Mega Dimension DLC team. Much like Corviknight, there are only two major weaknesses to worry about: ground and fire type moves.

Fortunately, you can evolve this Pokemon into Tinkaton at level 38, so it will be ready to go with a small investment.

While this Pokemon's offensive stats are quite weak, it has access to a ton of powerful moves to make up for this power difference. You're almost always safe to lead with this Pokémon as a scout designed to take a hit or two while you assess your options, so it's worth adding to your team ASAP in Mega Dimension.

Charcadet

Charcadet's Pokedex entry in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Whether you prefer Ceruledge or Armarouge, Charcadet stands out as one of the best Pokémon to add to your team early in Mega Dimension, thanks to its versatile evolution choices.

Armarouge provides Fire and Psychic type coverage, while Ceruledge chooses Ghost moves to go with Fire typing.

If you're going for versatility, Ceruledge might have a little too much overlap with Mega Chandelure to warrant it from a meta standpoint, especially given the lack of a Mega, but it's still one of the coolest Pokemon designs in the game. Ultimately, the choice is yours, but Armarouge's main competition is Delphox, so keep that in mind when choosing.
