The Season of Divine Intervention is about to descend upon Sanctuary, and Diablo 4 players will have to say goodbye to some of the best features of Season 10. While Diablo 4 Season 11 brings some big changes to features like combat, reputation, and gear upgrades, it's hard not to be a little disappointed that Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks will be gone after Season 10 ends. Being swept up in the changes is one Diablo 4 the boss, who will undoubtedly be affected for the worse in season 11, even if he doesn't get an outright rework.
Although Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks pass Diablo 4 Season 11, some of the new features introduced in Season 10 remain permanently. The rework of Infernal Hordes and its added boss Bartuc, Lord of Chaos, will still be available in Season 11. However, Bartuc's main claim to fame will no longer exist, making him a boss players should avoid in the upcoming season.
Diablo 4 players have little reason to fight Bartuc in Season 11
A complete 180 from his role in Diablo 4 Season 10, Bartuc will become a boss with very few players actively farming him. Previously, Bartuc was a great source for accessing Season 10's best resources, such as:
-
Guaranteed chaos armor on Torment 3 and 4
-
Unique chaos perks
-
Scroll of Restoration
-
Autopsy
-
Gold
Bartuc was added as an alternate boss to the regular Fell Council that players who complete each wave of the Infernal Hordes can face. However, he requires a hefty 666 Burning Aether to access, meaning players really need to optimize their Infernal Hordes runs to have a chance to reap his rewards.
Bartuc will no longer drop chaos armor or unique chaos perks
Without Chaos Armor or Chaos Perks in Diablo 4 Season 11, choosing to fight Bartuc will be much less appealing. In Season 10, defeating Bartuc was the only way to get Unique Chaos Perks, meaning players want to create a meta Diablo 4 build would need to face him at least 4 times to unlock all Unique Chaos Perks for their class. Farming Bartuc was also one of the best ways to earn Chaos Armor, as he was guaranteed to drop it on Torment 3 and 4 difficulties.
Blizzard has not announced if Bartuc will receive a new Seasonal Item Drop in Season 11, but based on his Eternal Realm version, it appears that Bartuc will retain all of his same drops minus the Chaos Armor and Perks.
Bartuc is a much more expensive Infernal Hordes Boss with a worse payout this season
While Bartuc will still lose significant resources upon defeat, such as gold, obducite, and standard legendary and unique gear, the 666 Burning Aether price doesn't seem like a worthy trade-off without Chaos Armor or Perks to sweeten the deal. The Fell Council is free to access after an Infernal Hordes race, and the Aether players have collected can be spent on their reward chests instead of an equal if not greater amount of the same resources. The only reason to choose Bartuc over the Fell Council i Diablo 4 Season 11 is for a Scroll of Restoration, which has new benefits during the change to Diablo 4s Temperature system.
Scrolls of Restoration allow players to reset the Temper charges on an item so they can re-temper it at will. Previously, an item's Temper charges could only be restored once by a Scroll of Restoration, but Season 11 removes this limit. However, with Tempering now allowing players to choose their desired affix instead of leaving it up to chance with a random one, Scrolls of Restoration may not be as necessary going forward, unless players decide they want to change their build at some point. Whether or not this makes a Scroll of Restoration worth the 666 Burning Aether required to challenge Bartuc is up to the player to decide, ultimately leaving the boss a shell of his Season 10 self.
