To unlock the Blue Chests, players must build a church in Wishvale, and for that they must progress into the Kindlers of the Flame Main Quest.

To be more precise, unlocking the church requires players to advance to Chapter 5 of Kindlers of the Flame and encounter Laurana again. After recruiting this priest, they must go back to Wishvale, reconstruct the Aelfric Church and upgrade it to Level 3 with 12 Radiant Cornerstones.

Radiant Cornerstones are obtained after defeating Elite enemies, which are scattered around Ostterra. It is very likely that players already have enough of these items to upgrade the church.

Upgrading the church to level 3 unlocks the ability to open Blue Chests all over the world, as well as increasing the helper capacity up to 9 (maximum).
