Black Ops 7 Update Changes Controversial Feature

A new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has fixed one of its most controversial issues with the shooter's new Endgame mode. Before the latest update, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players experienced an incredibly frustrating issue that resulted in them losing progress if unexpectedly disconnected. Developer Treyarch Studios says it has now added a new protection feature to prevent players from losing huge amounts of progress, which seems to have pleased the community a lot.

With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 earlier this month, Treyarch Studios continued to evolve the franchise with another new mode for players to jump into: Endgame. It's unclear if this mode will be available in all new titles going forward, but it has given players even more content to check out this year. For those who may not be aware, Endgame is a new PvE extraction mode that allows players to jump into Avalon with 31 other players and complete objectives, secure gear, and then exfil. What fans have grown to love about the mode is that it's a great way to level up your weapons and progress through challenges without having to grind out Multiplayer or Zombies.

Black Ops 7 adds disconnection protection to the end game

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7s new Endgame mode has received a positive reception from fans, a serious problem has caused great frustration for the community. Previously, players who suddenly disconnected from Endgame lost huge amounts of progression, but a new update has now added an extra layer of protection that should make this problem a thing of the past. Developer Treyarch Studios says the game will now take a snapshot of a player's Combat Rating when they jump into a match of Endgame, and if an unexpected disconnect occurs, players will start their next match with the Combat Rating they entered their previous match in. However, since this is an extraction-based mode, players will still lose their progress if they fail to exfiltrate during a match.

This was a big problem for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players, as many reported losing a large number of Combat Rating levels due to accidental disconnections. One Reddit user even claimed that they lost their level 60 Combat Rating after their Wi-Fi was disconnected while they were still in a match. The player says they lost hours of progress and notes that it was unfair to be punished for something out of their control. Another user even said they were kicked back to the lobby three times in a single day, resetting their Combat Rating to 0 each time.

So it's no surprise that fans are excited to see Treyarch implement this change as part of the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 update. “Thank you so much,” one fan replied. They explained how they live in South Africa and have regular blackouts, meaning they experience outages far more than the average gamer. Another player said they were “consistently worried” that this would become a common problem after it happened to them, but praised Treyarch for the quick fix.

This is a much-needed change that will likely make fans much less reluctant to jump into Endgame now that they know their progress isn't in jeopardy should they accidentally relax. It also comes at the perfect time, as Treyarch Studios recently chose to make Endgame available to everyone Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 player. Previously, the mode was locked behind the shooter's new Co-Op campaign, meaning it was only accessible by completing the campaign first. But as the developer said it had received an overwhelmingly positive reception of the mode, it opted to make Endgame available to everyone from November 21.
