Although primarily known for its emotional and often heartwarming choose-your-own-adventure story, Dispatch still has a solid game loop as well. Players control former hero Robert “Mecha Man” Robertson and play the role of dispatch on the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN), and while story selection is a large part of the game, its actual gameplay sequences reflect light strategy/management sims that 911 operator. During these moments in Dispatchplayers choose which heroes they send on a call, with each offering unique strengths and weaknesses that contribute to a call's success or failure.
Choosing which heroes to send out doesn't always depend on one's strengths compared to another, because Dispatchs Synergy system allows players to pair up certain heroes and have those powers both intensified and sometimes altered. But while each Synergy pairs in Dispatch have their merits, some teams rise above the rest in terms of their versatility, complementary roles, and the overall bonus their synergy provides.
S level
Malevola and Sonar
Players will no longer be able to take advantage of the Malevola + Sonar combo afterwards Dispatch Episode 3 if they choose to cut Sonar instead of Coupe.
Malevola and Sonar are so many Dispatch players can consider being a “broken” Synergy pair in the game, thanks to the healing and utility of Malevola along with Sonar's flexibility. Malevola's portal and healing mechanics, plus Sonar's strength in Intellect and his transformation ability, can cover a wide range of mission requirements, which could very well be the best Synergy pair in Dispatch — with Punch Up and Coupe perhaps the only comparable team. In fact, when pairing Malevola with Sonar on almost any mission, players are likely to be successful, as long as their stats are allocated according to each hero's strengths.
Punch Up and Coupe
Players will no longer be able to take advantage of the Punch Up + Coupe combo afterwards Dispatch Episode 3 if they choose to cut Coupe instead of Sonar.
Punch Up is already one of Dispatchs most reliable heroes – due to the fact that he cannot be felled due to his Hard Head ability – but when paired with Coupe, the two heroes form one of the strongest teams in the game. Coupe starts with Combat, Intellect, and Mobility as their strongest stats, while Punch Up specializes in Combat, Charisma, and Vigor. As such, they together become one of Dispatchs most well-rounded pair, especially when players prioritize boosting the stats they're already proficient in.
A level
Prisma and Flambae
In the A layer, the best Synergy pairs in Dispatch are not as versatile, but what they specialize in they do with conviction. Prisma and Flambae form such a pair, mainly due to Prism's Doppleganger Illusion ability which creates copies of the hero to their left. This is especially useful with a hero like Flambae at his side, whose On Fire mechanic gives him increased combat and mobility after a call success until a call fails. Plus, with Prism and Flambae both specializing in Combat, this pair of heroes excels at combat-heavy conversations in the game, which occur quite often during episodes 5 through 8 of Dispatch.
Invisigal and Golem
Dispatch's Invisigal and Golem are another combat-heavy Synergy pair in the game, as they both have strong Combat and Vigor starting stats. However, when paired together, Invisigal's high mobility and Golem's high Charisma help round them out for increased versatility in conversation. Additionally, Golem's Charisma boost makes him better at crowd control and negotiation checks, while Invisigal's Mobility helps her reduce the team's travel time.
B level
Malevola and Waterboy
The Malevola + Waterboy Synergy pair is only available to players if they choose to cut Sonar in Episode 3 and then add Waterboy to the team in Episode 4.
As they move down the tier list, the best Synergy pairings rely more on the choices players make Dispatchespecially in episodes 3 and 4. In B-Tier, Malevola and Waterboy contribute a decent team, although Malevola's synergy with Sonar was much stronger. Waterboy starts out with some of the weakest stat assignments Dispatchmaking Malevola's more well-rounded deployment almost necessary to ensure Waterboy's success on a call. For players who choose to add Waterboy to the team i Dispatch Episode 4, this is a must-have pair.
Punch Up and Phenomaman
The Punch Up + Phenomaman Synergy pair is only available to players if they choose to cut Coupe in Episode 3 and then add Phenomaman to the team in Episode 4.
Unlike the Malevola and Waterboy combo, Dispatchs Punch Up and Phenomaman Synergy pair is much stronger — even if it means refusing to add Waterboy to the team in Episode 4. Specifically, Phenomaman has some of the best starting stats in the game, and then players should have Punch Up's stats in a very strong spot. Plus, again, Punch Up's Hard Head ability makes him a reliable hero, so when paired with the already strong Phenomaman, the team can do quite well. The main drawback is that the two mainly specialize in Combat and Vigor, which means that players must not only refuse Waterboy, but also prioritize sending Punch Up and Phenomaman on combat-heavy missions.
C level
Punch Up and Waterboy
The Punch Up + Waterboy Synergy pair is only available to players if they choose to cut Coupe in Episode 3 and then add Waterboy to the team in Episode 4.
The combination Punch Up and Waterboy in Dispatch tells a story similar to the Malevola and Waterboy pairing, as Punch Up's stats help finish off Waterboy. While Waterboy has an incredibly weak stat allocation with Intellect, Charisma and Mobility as his “strengths”, Punch Up has high Combat, Charisma and Vigor stats, which help fill the gaps left by Waterboy. The problem, however, is that Waterboy doesn't just need to fill in the gaps – he even needs his own powers enhanced. Thus, the Malevola and Waterboy Synergy pair provides a higher success rate on incoming calls Dispatch than the couple Punch Up and Waterboy.
Malevola and Phenomaman
Finally, Malevola and Phenomaman Synergy join forces Dispatch is actually a strong team when it comes to statistics. First there is Malevola, who is a very well rounded hero with high Combat and Charisma. Second, there's Phenomaman, who not only has some of the strongest starting stats in the game, but also has high combat, power, and mobility, making his synergy with Malevola top notch. Despite their stat pairing, but this Synergy pair in Dispatch requires players to cut Sonar, whose intellect and versatility is nearly unmatched, and to reject Waterboy, whose late-game abilities ultimately make him a better choice than Phenomaman.
