Arc Raiders has become one of the most popular releases of the year, surpassing the likes of Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Many are calling it the next evolution of the extraction shooter genre, offering a fresh formula and a fantastic retro-futuristic atmosphere. But like all extraction shooters, it's as difficult as Arc Alloy.
Anything and everything in the game can kill you, from Arcs to other players. Even if you have good equipment, you won't protect yourself from getting killed and losing all your loot. Still, it's worth having a good gun every time you go topside, and most players agree that you're better off with starter weapons.
Arc Raider's base weapons are among the best
If, like me, you find yourself dying and losing your loot too often, you might be wondering if buying or crafting advanced weapons will be any better. Unfortunately, it doesn't help much if another Raider sneaks up on you and shoots you in the back, or if a couple of wasps decide to swarm you.
As pointed out by tiktakboi's post on Reddit, many players prefer starting weapons like the Kettle and Stitcher over many of the late weapons. Once you upgrade the magazine, Stitcher is especially good for low level Arcs and other players. The best part is that it doesn't cost much to craft, and you can also get it as part of the free gear.
In addition to being just great to use, it also doesn't require the amount of investment and care that a high-level weapon requires. You won't miss it too much if you have a bad round and lose it either. You can simply buy a new one from the weapon vendor and upgrade after you've collected a decent pile of crafting materials.
On the other hand, if you're willing to put in the effort and don't mind losing it, the Torrente LMG is a great high-level weapon. It makes up for its below-average handling stats with a flurry of bullets.
