While REPO is not primarily a monster hunter game, but instead a survival game where players collect valuables, they can really become a set of some brave Semibots who focus on Strength Upgrades to become the brutal and ruthless killers of the same monsters that want them dead. It is important to have Strength Upgrades in REPO to grab and smash monsters into the ground or throw them into pits.
REPO: 7 scary monsters, ranked
REPO contains some truly terrifying monsters that will make even the most hardened bots tremble with fear, and here is the scariest of them all.
There are 19 monsters in REPO, and each of them requires different levels of strength upgrades if players want to successfully grab them and throw them to the ground with ease. Strength is not only good for getting heavier valuables, but for flipping REPO into a monster-slaying adventure.
Updated November 7, 2025 by Usama Ali: The latest Monster Update for REPO introduces 10 brand new monsters. With enemies like Loom, Gambit and Cleanup Crew, players now have even more reasons to invest in Strength Upgrades. This guide has been completely updated to include all 29 monsters currently in the REPO and the power upgrades you need to take them down.

Elsa
Power Upgrades Needed: Impossible
Elsa looks like an adorable canine companion but can quickly become frightening. With 600 health, 5 damage per hitand since she is impossible to choose, she only wants affection. Petting Elsa causes hearts to disappear, but if players or enemies attack her, she transforms into a muscular beast that can tear through anything nearby. Protecting her from harm is the only way to ensure she remains friendly.
28
Peeper
Power Upgrades Needed: Impossible
Peeper is a giant eyeball that often appears on the ceiling in an attempt to lock eyes with players, slowing them down and dealing damage over time if they don't break line of sight. Given that the Peepers are stuck on the ceiling, it's impossible to get them, so it's best to leave them until they teleport away after a few seconds, or shoot them with a gun.
27
Buck
Power Upgrades Needed: Impossible
The tick is small but deadly if underestimated. It only has 10 health and no strength required to pick up. Touching or grabbing a tick causes it to latch on, draining 10 health per second until it is killed or reaches 100 health. Defeating it releases a healing mist that players can walk into. Usually spawning in groups, ticks are best left alone if you are not ready for the risk.
26
Gnome
Power Upgrades Needed: 0
Gnomes are the weakest of the monsters in REPOand their little porcelain pickaxes will deal 10 damage, but they themselves will be easily killed when players pick them up and drop them on the ground, which can be done right from level one since they're very light and require 0 strength upgrades.
25
Scabies
Power Upgrades Needed: 0
The Banger is a skull that lights a dynamite fuse in its head the moment it detects a player, and as such they can be quite dangerous if players don't take care of them. When they explode, players will take damage, and they might as well say goodbye to any nearby valuables. Fortunately, Banger can be picked up and thrown away without strength upgrades to ensure they aren't much of a nuisance.
24
Apex Predator
Strength Upgrades Needed: 0 (When Apex Predator is knocked down)
Apex Predator works a little differently than other monsters, as the amount of strength doesn't actually help slow this monster down. The purpose of the Apex Predator is to torment the player and get in their face until they accidentally touch it, to which the Apex Predator then turns into a flying monster that chases and bites. Players can pick up the Apex Predator from 0 Strength Upgrades, but they will need to use either a Cauldron to take down this duck enemy or a Tranquiliser Gun to put it to sleep.
23
Birthday boy
Power Upgrades Needed: 4
The birthday boy looks harmless with his balloons, but if you pop one, the party turns into chaos. With 150 health and 10 damage per blast, this party boy gets angry when provoked. If players leave their balloons untouched, they remain passive. Hitting a balloon will make the Birthday Boy chase you and hit you until you run or hide. Groups of different colored birthday boys can play together in early levels.
22
Head grip
Power Upgrades Needed: 4
Headgrab is a fast, aggressive enemy that feeds on fallen players, and it attacks at range. Once it steals a player's head, it becomes faster and more dangerous. The Head Grabber is vulnerable to quick hits from small valuables, making it easy to parry.
21
Speer
Power Upgrades Needed: 4
The Spewer stalks the halls of most maps looking for players it can hook onto, providing them with a new mouth that randomly opens to spit acid at other players and valuables. There is no way to dislodge the monster until it decides to do it on its own, but players can avoid it by picking it up before it locks on when they have four strength upgrades.
20
Outcry
Power Upgrades Needed: 4
The Upscream is one of the scariest monsters to watch as it crawls around on all its legs and looks at the players with the creepiest of smiles. Thankfully, this fearsome beast can be killed with just 4 strength upgrades, allowing players to pick it up and throw it around as it flutters helplessly.
