Joy Boy is one of the most significant characters in One Piecenow more than ever before, because the story is in the Final Saga. Over the past few arcs, fans have learned a lot about Joy Boy, his exploits, and most importantly, his abilities.
Oda has given fans a glimpse of what he is truly capable of, and now fans know that he was a cruel individual, as expected of the first pirate in history. One Piece. Joy Boy was a pirate with many skillsand the strongest of them all was enough to strike fear into the bones of the World Government.
The voice of all things
Joy Boy could hear the voices of objects and animals
One of the most interesting abilities Joy Boy had was the voice of everything. Essentially, this power allowed Joy Boy to hear the voice of all inanimate things and even animals. Joy Boy could understand them and communicate with them. At the same time, this would also allow him to form relationships with strong individuals, such as Zunesha, or characters such as Emeth. The power of the Voice of All Things is still unknown in One Piece. What fans do know is that it can also be used in battle. Joy Boy had this ability figured out, and so far he might just be the only character to do it in One Piece.
Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika (Basic)
Joy Boy had a rubber body
Joy Boy was a user of Hito Hito no Mi, model: Nika. Of course, while many individuals believe that Joy Boy had these powers without eating a devil fruit, it has already been confirmed in the story that he was a user of this power. This is simply because Gorosei clearly mentioned i One Piece chapter 1044 that this Devil Fruit has not awakened in centuries. This essentially means that this Devil Fruit woke up a long time ago, which also implies that this Devil Fruit existed during the Void Century and was eaten by someone, which fans now know is Joy Boy.
Essentially, Joy Boy has been confirmed to be a user of Hito Hito no Mi, model: Nika, and, with its basic form, he could use the ability to stretch and shrink, and possibly use power similar to Luffy's Gear 2, Gear 3 and Gear 4.
Devil Fruit Awakening
Joy Boy was able to access the Gear 5
Joy Boy managed to awaken his Devil Fruit. Again this was confirmed by the five elders i One Piece chapter 1044. He was the last user to awaken the fruit before Luffy, and he had the same abilities as him, meaning he was the warrior of liberation also. Joy Boy had the power of Gear 5 at his disposal, which meant that he fought with immense freedom and joy, and at the same time his imagination was his only limitation.
This is precisely why Joy Boy was as terrifying as he was, and why the World Government feared him as deeply as they did. His true powers have not been revealed in One Piece yet, but fans will get a glimpse of them soon.
Haki
Joy Boy possessed a huge Haki
Pretty easy, one of the most powerful abilities that Joy Boy had at his disposal was his amazing Haki. He was a user of all three types of Haki, and the strongest of them all was definitely Conqueror's Haki. Joy Boy's Haki is the best that fans have seen in One Piece. Recently, in the Egghead Arc, Joy Boy was shown to have sealed his strongest Haki inside Emeth.
When Emeth unleashed this Haki, it was so powerful that it denied the Yokai powers of all five eldersinterrupted their summons, knocking out all the marines in the vicinity, except for the vice admirals and the higher ranks, and split the sky apart. So far this is it the greatest Haki feat that fans have seen in the entirety of One Piece, and it's clearly on a whole other level.
Scientific skill
Joy Boy could have had scientific powers
Most fans assumed that Joy Boy was a character with the same moveset as Luffy. This could not be further from the truth. Joy Boy came from a scientific kingdom. In fact, he was from the most prosperous kingdom of his time, which is even more advanced in the society that exists today in One Piece World. As such, Joy Boy's scientific prowess must have been second to none.
He was the one who took care of Emethand he knew the powers of science bestowed upon him. Joy Boy could even have had a leg and a robotic arm, based on a silhouette. At least he had the power of science at his disposal, which he used in unknown ways. He even had access to the old weapons and it was he who wanted to pass them on to future generations. The Ancient Weapons can also be considered part of his arsenal. Hopefully, as the story explores Joy Boy's character even more, fans will find out what he used the power of science for.
