World of Warcraft fish inflate Midnight Beta

The World of Warcraft: Midnight the beta has some pretty serious latency issues right now, and it seems like the improved fish NPC behavior patterns may be responsible. The large number of aquatic creatures along the coasts of Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman has likely caused some unexpected problems for World of Warcraft.

On November 11, World of Warcraft officially started Midnight beta. This marks the next major milestone towards the release of the next expansion, which is expected to arrive in early 2026. The beta includes most Midnightincluding all four new zones: Eversong Woods, Zul'Aman, Harandar and Voidstorm.

Player on Midnight beta has encountered some pretty bad lag, and it seems the source is pretty fishy. According to a post on the forum by World of Warcraft game producer Zorbrix, the developers have tried to hunt down the cause of the performance problems in Midnight beta since it went live, and after much investigation, it appears that fish is one of the biggest contributing factors. Issues with NPC behavior improvements i World of Warcraft combined with the large number of coastlines and fish in the zones of Midnight created the perfect storm to throttle gaming performance across the realm.

Of course, the fish are almost certainly not the only problem. Zorbrix admitted that it was “a collection of things that caused the degraded server [performance] and increased memory usage on the world's servers.” Each squashed bug would produce two more, leading to a cascading problem. The developers are hard at work trying to fix it, but it may still take some time for the performance on the beta to stabilize. Hopefully these issues will be resolved before then World of Warcraftpp Midnight November 17th Pre-Patch Event Test.

That being said, the improvements to NPC behavior that contributed to these issues have caught the attention of many fans. Unlike many MMOs, where monsters and NPCs simply sit around a field until engaged in combat, the NPCs in World of Warcraft patrolling, hunting, napping, feeding and even fighting each other. It will be interesting to see how these improvements improve the immersion of the new zones Midnight and beyond.

This is far from the only error that has appeared below Midnight testing. From A pose World of Warcraft Night Alves to fall through the floor of the Silvermoon Barber Shop, Midnight still have a few tricks left to work out. Players who want to help squash these beta bugs can choose to participate Wow website, or guarantee their spot by pre-purchasing the Epic Edition of Midnight.
