I already know what I'm using my first Prestige Token for

After the triumphant return of a classical prestige system in its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 keeps a traditional Prestige system in place, and with this system comes Prestige Tokens. These unlocks will work just like they always have, with players earning one token per Prestige, which can be used to permanently unlock any item. This is a huge boon because Prestiging locks everything until players rank again, so every token spent is an important choice. Black Ops 7's Vault Edition muddies the waters a bit, as players like myself who have purchased this version of the game will get to use a Prestige token on day one. And for me, the goal of this early Permanent unlock is a no-brainer, as it's a blast from the past.

Black Ops 7's MPC-25, The Second Coming of the MSMC, is my top priority

Whereas I would have been tempted by the M8A1, as it was my weapon of choice in the Black Ops 2 and my choice of gun i Black Ops 7 beta, being unlockable at level 10 means I have access to it in an instant. Instead, I turn my attention to another returner BO2 icon: MSMC. Now going by the name MPC-25, I expect this gun to be a powerhouse just like it was in Black Ops 2. In that game, the weapon shined not only because of its elegant aesthetics, but also because of its statistics. It had laser accuracy, solid range for an SMG, and a quick time to kill, essentially making it a flawless weapon.

Adding to the idea that MSMC's direct successor will be strong is its unlock level. Typically, players have to wait until level 55 to obtain this weapon, meaning the only people who can potentially run around with this gun on launch day are those who unlock it via their Vault edition Permanent Unlock token and those who have a stash of Double XP tokens. While the final unlock isn't always the best item players can get, it's rarely the worst, and the legacy of MSMC makes me confident that Treyarch won't undercut its successor. The strength of other older weapons i BO6from Olympia to LC10, only adds to that confidence. Some of the other top level unlocks for this particular game also come around the max level, like the Juggernaut counterpart known as Rhino (level 54), the controversial Active Camo field upgrade (level 51), and the ever-popular Ninja perk (level 53).

On top of all this is the fact that the MPC-25 was not tested in the Black Ops 7 beta. This means it could be an incredibly powerful gun that has slipped under the radar, while the Dravec 45 that dominated the lobbies during the testing period will likely be noticeably weaker when released. Also, MPC being a level 55 unlock that players acquire this late (and potentially skip over as they continue on their journey to Master Prestige) can help it avoid the first round or two of weapon nerfs. Basically, if players like me play on that MPC-25 is good, and we're lucky, then we can dominate Black Ops 7s persistent lobbying for several weeks.

When Black Ops 7 releases, it will still be worth looking at strong beta weapons like the MXR-17, Dravec 45 and my beloved M8A1. There's a chance, however small, that they haven't been hit too hard post-beta and are still meta.

A potential loadout for Black Ops 7's MPC-25

While Black Ops 7The MSMC successor is described as having premium damage, handling and mobility, it will apparently have higher recoil and limited range compared to the classic BO2 arms. As such, I would recommend the following MPC-25 charge to players, provided these attachments are available for this SMG:

  • Firepower silencer muzzle (no minimappings, extra bullet speed and extra damage area at the expense of sight speed)
  • Hybrid barrels (increases damage range and bullet speed)
  • Recoil Control Foregrip Underpipe (significant reduction to horizontal recoil)
  • Precision grip Rear grip (Vertical recoil control and first shot recoil control)
  • Extended Mag 1 (extra ammo capacity)

It's worth noting that this setup is largely guesswork since then BO7 has yet to be launched, and I'm basing my build on the attachments available for other SMGs, meaning the MPC-25 may lack some of these options. It is also worth considering how each Black Ops 7 the gun has an exclusive accessory tied to the game's weapon prestige system. In the case of this particular submachine gun, it's the 8.6-inch MFS Stratus-X barrel, which in my opinion has too many trade-offs to justify. Presumably, the accessory will fully solve the recoil problem at the cost of reduced damage and range, with the caveat that headshots will do more damage. If you are extremely precise, it is worth trying, but I think it is worth trying the above. may end up swapping out the Extended Mag for a Fire Mod of some sort, but I think my planned loadout will be successful in recapturing the MSMC vibes myself and other old schoolers Call of Duty the fans are hungry.
