There are tons of different containers, chests, and cabinets you can loot The Outer Worlds 2. It's an easy way to get handy crafting materials, extra bits, or powerful weapons and gear to help you on your adventure. One of the first chests you'll come across is Kaur's War Chest. This can be found in a hut near Fairfield, but it requires a key card to open. In this Outer worlds 2 guide, I will explain how to open Kaur's War Chest and where to find it so you can get the loot.
Where to find Kaur's War Chest in The Outer Worlds 2
Kaur's War Chest can be found in a hut just west of Fairfield on Paradise Island. This is the first planet and location you find yourself on after the opening mission, and Fairfield is the capital city not far from where you land The Incognito. I've marked the exact location of the hut in which you'll find Kaur's War Chest in the screenshot above.
How to open Kaur's War Chest in Outer Worlds 2
Once you get here, go in, and you'll find the large chest on the floor just right where you enter. When you try to interact with it, you will discover it you either need Kaur's War Chest Keycard to open it or have your Lockpick skill level 5 and a Mag-Pick to enter without it.
You get two skill points every time you level up, and Mag-Picks can be bought from vendors or found around the world pretty easily, so it shouldn't take you too long to meet the requirements to get in without the keycard.
For those who want to get the keycard, you need to get the Pickpocket perk first. This requires you to have your Lockpick skill at level 1 before you can get it with a perk point. Once you've done this, you'll need to head to the large building where you talked to her and Milverstreet in the beginning and had to choose to stand on one side or the other. Enter her office off the main room here and creep up behind her. When you're close enough, you'll have the opportunity to catch her and take Kaur's War Chest Keycard.
The War Chest has a bunch of different items in it, including Bits, a Designator Triple Barrel Shotgun, and Kaur's Corroder. If you have the “Treasure Hunter” perk, you can also find additional pieces and crafting materials.
If you have already helped Kaur during the quest “Above and Beyond Repair”, the chest will not contain Kaur's Corroder, as you will receive this as a quest reward.
