The Witcher 4
The Wiedźmin saga continues
The Witcher 4 will mark a new beginning for the series originally written by Andrzej Sapkowski and brought to the gaming universe by CD Projekt Red. And fans couldn't be happier about the return of one of the main characters of the series, this time, as the only main character in this story, which already promises to be even darker than Geralt's tale of swords and sorcery.
It may not be a game that can be played in First Person, like Skyrim, but it has all the ingredients of medieval dark fantasy, magic and brutal battles needed to satisfy those who want to explore the most dangerous forests and seek monsters to kill. Sadly, The Witcher 4 has no release date yet.

Fable
A new beginning for the acclaimed series
Based on the original series created by the legend Peter Molineaux and his team at Lionhead Studios, Fable is a new beginning for this story of heroes and villains in the magical world of Albion. This time it is being developed by Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios, and it will definitely bring changes to the soul of the project.
That doesn't mean it'll be any less fun or immersive, though, because for all the developers have shown off so far, it respects most of the core elements of the original series: a sword and sorcery, enemies that look like a cross between a Grimm Brothers character and something out of our worst nightmares, and a witty sense of humor through their scenarios (or a quirky sense of humor). Fable will be released at an unconfirmed date in 2026.

The Blood of Dawnwalker
Warrior By Day, Bloody Avenger By Night
Born from a studio that combines veterans of the gaming industry (mostly former CD Projekt Red employees), The Blood of Dawnwalker is an original story that combines gothic horror with medieval fantasy. Its dark mood and setting already point in the direction of games like Skyrim, The Witcher 3 and Dark Souls.
But the small gameplay footage and teasers showcase a variety of stealth and guerilla combat, which is also a nice touch. Apparently, players will take on the role of a half-human/half-vampire as he tries to save his family from the clutches of a supernatural enemy (with a real-time countdown and all). Players may have to intersperse human play with vampire mode play to achieve their goal, but the question remains: Will it be enough to satisfy the bloodlust of most Skyrim players? We'll know when it's released in 2026, at an unconfirmed date.

Crimson Desert
The wait is almost over
Since the original announcement in 2019, Crimson Desert has been in development by Pearl Abyss, and players were biting their nails waiting for an exact release date. Recently, the developers of Black desert confirmed that the long-awaited Single-Player Action RPG will be released on March 16, 2026.
For those who want to fight against dangerous enemies in a medieval fantasy setting, this game will offer a chance to enjoy non-stop, fluid battles in third person that combines the best of games like The Witcher 3 and Dark Souls, with the characteristic combination system of Black Desert. With combat moves ranging from bull rushes, shield slams, and even powerful dropkicks, the game will offer a wide variety of ways to kill enemies. The graphics will also be top-notch, so Skyrim players can expect plenty of cool vistas and a vast wilderness to explore.

A SteamPunk Fallout/Skyrim Merge
With a design style that takes the best from games like Fall-out, Dishonoredand Skyrimthis Steam Punk adventure is about taking up arms against an evil regime. Players will fight alongside a group of misfits against an evil regime, possibly changing the course of history in the process.
One of the coolest things to appreciate about Clockwork Revolution is its weapon crafting system, which is very similar to that of Fallout, but has its own quirks and, of course, steampunk-like accessories to craft and use to kill everything that moves. This game will be released on an unconfirmed date, although it is known that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Painter of destiny
A brutal First Person Fantasy RPG
First shown in THQ Nordic's Digital Showcase in August 2025, Painter of destiny is one of the many games hoping to inherit Skyrim's title of next-gen first-person fantasy action RPG. Alongside titles such as Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, it takes place in a much darker medieval fantasy universe, but this time it will probably have the characteristic THQ imprint that has brought to life many great action titles such as Titan Quest (and lastly Titan Quest 2).
The fate painter's the focus seems to be more on the side of combat and magic, with a linear plot and tighter (not open world) gameplay experience. For what has been shown so far, it looks like a mix of the classics Might and Magic games and a Souls-like. Quite exciting, and definitely on many people's wish lists Skyrim fans.

An alchemist who works his way up in a dark and unforgiving world
Alka horse is one of the most promising upcoming games that mixes first-person combat and a fantasy setting in a medieval world. With a fully destructible environment as part of the combat experience to boot. This game is developed by HypeTrain Digital (developer of Void train and The wild eight), so it is a studio with a lot of experience that has put many interesting games on the market.
Skyrim fans should watch out Alka horseand while we don't have a revealed release date yet, it looks promising to make up for the wait.
