Ghost of Yotei has been out for just over a week now, which obviously means that some players have already rinsed the game completely and look forward to what Sucker Punch is working on the next. Of course, that conversation naturally gives potential DLC into the equation, since Ghost of Tsushima received its IKI Island DLC a year after the first release. It is obvious that Sucker Punch can do the same for Ghost of Yotei.
The only question we really have is where exactly this potential DLC can be set. It can obviously be a completely different area than the mainland Hokkaido, where the game is canceled, but some players believe that the base game's map already holds the answers.
Ghost of Yotei fans think they know where DLC will take place
First raised by a Reddit user named Nizzydeniro, there are a couple of pretty odd places on the Ghost of Yotei's map. You can see from Nizzydeniro's post above that south and east of the Tokachi range is overwhelmed, even though they are quite huge pieces of land that can very easily be cut from the map completely. As Nizzydeniro points out, it definitely feels “intentional” and may suggest that two new areas on the map be opened if DLC drops.
They are not the only people who pointed to these pieces on the map as potential DLC areas as well. In a completely separate post, a Reddit user named Tartfederal1642 out with the area east of the Tokachi range and said that if DLC is not there, they will “crash out.” As someone who likes to have all the map discovered, I feel a lot of this specific brand of pain.
However, there are some doubts, and point out that both of these areas in Hokkaido are quite a lot of wilderness in reality, and Sucker Punch may have been forced to include the areas on the map to make the region more realistic. Others also say that the area around Lake Toya can be a suitable area as well, but obviously no one knows for sure. It is still quite to get theories out there and try to manifest DLC which will be announced in the near future.
