One of the most important complaints with Battlefield 6 beta was how small the maps were, and while insurance was made, and seemingly classic size maps were discovered in the files, the entire launch here and these complaints are still ringing out of society.
“Really like the overall game in Battlefield 6,” said U/Dul-Caterpillar3153 at the series' subreddit. “Played for 6 hours in a row and had a very enjoyable time. In the honeymoon phase with the game (as we all are) and just want to enjoy it while it lasts. An area where I am sure my opinion will not change is about the maps.
They are just not so good even the bigger ones are not good […] Maps across the line lean toward the smaller end of the scale […] Maps too feeling less than they show up. Even the larger maps have this intense chaos around the clock […] Maps do not seem to be designed well for several positions. ”
With almost 1,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments, they are far from alone. “I came to this subreddit and was looking for someone who knows the same thing as me,” replied U/Liberated_furnace. “The game is really fun but the maps don't feel right. I'm 3 hours in and just played conquest because I love big maps, but even the” big “maps don't feel so big.”
“Too many sight lines and too many flanks,” suggested U/SSteve_man. “I think that's what it is. And it's not even the destruction. Only on a baseline are there too many areas you can get shot from. To be shot from behind is standard”.
Unfortunately, the large maps are medium-sized BF3/4 maps. Does not feel like battlefield if the vehicle's commitment will also take place in exactly the same lane – U/infinite_lab1492.
One of the least popular maps is a new Sobek City, as players say has “absolutely no flow to it”, “might as well be called New Sobek Village”, “feels like half a map”, and even “makes 2042 maps look good”. “I really like the game but maps feel for claustrophobic,” said U/Hiroprotagonist1. “They are not bad but there must be bigger maps”.
Is Battlefield 6 for action packed?
In another thread, also edging against 1,000 Upvotes, u/freeadministrative666 criticizes how Battlefield 6 emphasizes fast actions and feeds players to an endless meat gate. “There is too much action in every minute of games,” they said. “Although the game feels a little slow in pace, it makes it intensity of maps and their size that it feels far too fast”.
It is a feeling that you find not only in the comments from their thread, but over social media platforms such as X and other Reddit posts about the game.
“The fact that the highest scope of snickers is 10x should say enough. Previous games have gone up to 16x or 20x. Each match is only half a dozen immortal thoughts that roll from point instacapping while teammates endlessly responded to them every three seconds,” said U/Discius.
Non Stop run around, non stop chaos, can't stay for a moment – u/rauldukes.
“I was imperative to hell to say this under beta lit bill, but now it is obvious,” U/inconsistency claimed. “Even Mirak is not big (and it's designed badly, no vertical terrain obstacles). Firestorm is the only respectable size of the game.”
Despite these complaints, Battlefield is 6 flourishing and marks EA's largest launch on Steam to date with a comfortable margin, while sitting on a “very positive” review points. The maps may have been less than many had hoped for, but it has not discouraged society from what is otherwise a long -awaited return to form from the series. But hopefully, future updates will bring larger maps and return us to the core battling experience.
