ODA admits that his editor tried to stop the death of this character

A bit Continues to surprise the fans with their incredible history. Eiichiro Oda has really captivated many fans around the world with Luffy's long journey to find a bit of treasure and become the next pirate king. But as the action develops, Luffy has seen characters come and go, even those who are dear to him and the fans.

That said, A bit Is not a stranger to character deaths. Fans have witnessed the last moments of characters such as Bellemere, Ginny, Hiriluk and even Whitebeard. Among these dead characters, Eiichiro ODA's editors have been driven to suggest that they save their lives. This editor is just one of the many fans who asked ODA to save Portgas D. Ace in Marineford.

ACE's death is one of the most memorable scenes in all A bit. Most anime fans probably know what happened to him, even without looking at him in the series. As one of the most popular characters, his death has destroyed countless fans around the world, even to this day. His death almost felt like a loyal and loving older brother had been gone forever.

Portgas D. Ace's death, however, was inevitable, as he was born as the legacy of the largest pirate in one piece, Gol D. Roger. Without Ace dying in Marineford, Luffy would never have received a reality check. After losing Ace, Luffy took his pirate dream more seriously, after learning his lesson. To protect his friends, Luffy knew that he had to become stronger to tear down the world order, the navy and the world government.

When he went back to Ace's death, he died with a smile on his face and knew he had fulfilled his dream. He originally believed that his life was worthless because of his father, but witnessing his father figure, his brother and his crew risks their lives in Marineford just to save him made him realize how much he was loved and recognized.

  • ODA's editor, Hattori, thought that Kill Ace was not a good idea.

  • Many fans wrote ODA letters that asked him to save Ace's life.

When Portgas D. Ace was imprisoned in Impel down and later brought to MarineFord, many fans' letters wrote to A bit Creator Eiichiro Oda with just one intention. They want Oda to save Ace's life at all costs. The same was true of one of ODA's editors, Akira Jean-Baptiste Hattori, who asked him if he would really kill Ace. This only proves that Ace's death was so big at that time, so much that even ODA's editor tried to stop him.

ACE's execution in MarineFord - One Piece

Hattori continued and told Eiichiro Oda to kill ace “is not a good idea.” Although this is true for many fans who love ACE and would like to see him probably be the next generation of whitebeard, others believe that he had to die. After all, Ace's death is one of the greatest deaths, not only in one piece, but throughout anime. His death made Luffy and Blackbeard's conflict more intense, and it made Luffy realize that he needed to be stronger.

I know I'm dying! My bowels have been burned out! I'm not going to last long. -Ace

Fortunately, Oda is generous against fans when it comes to ACE, even after killing him in one piece. At SBS 89, fans saw what Ace would look like if he was still living aged 40 and 60 in two separate timelines. If only Ace was still alive, he could have been a Yonko sometime in the future. The direction for a bit would also have been different, especially the end.

Eiichiro Oda said that the death of Aces was hard

Portgas D. Ace Dog who protected his sworn brother Luffy from Akainus brutal Magma -Pan. It immediately met Ace, with Akainus fist penetrating through the upper body and burned his inside. In short, it was a brutal way to die, straight out of a horror movie. When Eiichiro Oda saw the section where Acainu killed Ace, he surprisingly wondered “why Ace had to be killed in such a hard way”, even though he was the one who had written Ace death in one piece in the first place.

Probably Ace's death Oda met differently in anime because of the animation itself, on top of the voice -acting, sound and music, which made death more tragic than when he pulled it into manganese. Unfortunately, it was too late to change ODA's mind, but he could still revive him if he could. However, a resuscitation of ACE would be unlikely, given that ODA dislikes dead characters coming back to life in A bit.
