Overall, the Dragon Age series is fantastic. Yet much of its greatness comes from the quality of its earliest games. Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition are all excellent titles. That said, the Inquisition is the only one that really holds perfect today. The other two feel a little dated now, which is understandable since they came out a long time ago.
However, this is why the concept of remaster exists, as they allow older games to be improved and release again. But not every game becomes or deserves that treatment. Here are the reasons why the early Dragon Age games should get remaster.
The first two games need visual upgrades
Could look more real
One of the things that remedied versions of games are best known for is to update the original, although they do not always get it right. This is not something that Dragon Age: Inquisition needs, but Origins and Dragon Age 2 can certainly make improvements in this area.
Character models in both games lack small details and do not achieve the visual realism they shoot for. In addition, the environments look quite basic and bland. This is not really a surprise since Origins was released in 2009 and DA2 came out in 2011. The remaster could bring them up to current standards.
Bringing the older games on PS5
The more systems, the better
All Dragon Age games can be played on the computer and the Xbox series X. But due to the limited backward compatibility of PS4 and PS5 you cannot play the first two games in the series on these consoles.
A remaster would change it, at least when it comes to PS5. Still, it can even be released on PS4 as well. Although it is only the newer system, it is a console on which these classic titles can be played, which can only be good.
Could renew the interest in the Dragon Age series
Revive the dragon age
Fans waited ten years for another Dragon Age game after the Inquisition, and they got Veilguard. Not only fans of the series are disappointed, but it is unlikely that it brought many new fans either. As a result, the general interest in the Dragon Age series is not super high right now.
However, it can be fixed if a remaster of the best games in the series was released. The collection would ignite Dragon Age's relevance, and the quality of the games can get people who want more and give the series a brighter future.
A reminder of what Bioware can
There is a reason why Bioware became famous in the first place
It is fair to say that Bioware's latest history has not been good. Like Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem and Dragon Age: The Vilguard is not often considered among the studio's best titles. So there has been significant criticism from the fans for the studio.
A remaster of the early Dragon Age games would serve as a reminder of why Bioware is one of the most influential RPG developers ever. It could also possibly make people more hyped for what they do in the future.
Origins would take advantage of some battle adjustments
Just speed up things a little
Unlike a remake, a remaster generally does not review a game's combat system. So you can't expect the Dragon Ageremaster to have brand new combat systems. That said, some tweaks can be made to Origin's battle.
It can feel a little slow and ploding sometimes, especially when swinging swords or daggers. In addition, the animations are a bit uninspired. If Remaster fixes these questions, it can make the fighting feel a little smoother and more exciting.
Chance to fix some of the Dragon Age 2's problems
It was never a perfect game
Dragon Age 2 undoubtedly gets more love now than it did when it was originally released. However, it should not be forgotten that there are problems with the game. For example, there is no variation in the places you visit, the battle is not very deep, and there is not much adaptation.
You can't fix everything in a remaster. Still, there may be some changes and changes that would make Dragon Age 2 a more complete game and more fun to play. Simply adding some assignments that take place anywhere, but Kirkwall's streets would be a nice start.
Could get rid of some of Dragon Age: Inquisitions boring side assignments
Less pick up assignments, please
Get assignments are some of the worst types of side assignments in games, and unfortunately the Inquisition is filled with them. They are good to play at first, but they quickly become tiring, and if you are a supplement you feel you have to do them. In addition, you may need the experience they provide.
However, remaster could fine -tune things a bit. It can remove some of the side assignments and balancing things so that you do not need XP they provide. The game would be better without them.
All DLC in one place
The series has many expansions
Something that is good about Remastered Collections is that they generally contain all DLC released for each game. For example, almost all mass effect expansions are part of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. This would also be useful for the Dragon Age series as many DLCs have been released for these games.
However, as good as a part of it is not everyone returns to buy and play a DLC when they have already beaten the game and moved on. This collection would allow these people to experience what they have previously missed, while new fans simply get more content.
