A short revealing video from Asus Displays the silhouette of a new Xbox controller, with more information coming on Gamescom 2025. Asus is well known for its gaming computers and components, but it also dips into the mobile and console markets and sells game-focused phones and accessories for console players.
ASUS currently makes headlines when developing the new ROG Xbox handler and offers both Xbox and Steam games for players on the go. While Asus has many options for mobile players, it already offers a controller and its pro version that works on Xbox, Mobile and PCS, although there may not only be two options for a long time.
Asus makes a new Xbox controller
Through a Youtube card on its official channel, Asus has given a sniff look on a new Xbox Controller. The short video shows the general Xbox shape of the controller, with a small observation of paddle buttons on the back. The teaser gives confirmation that more news will be announced at Gamescom 2025, with the event that will take place from August 20 to August 24. The full program for the Gamescom week is live, although the details of when ASUS will reveal new information on its controller is not public. Asus is listed as a premium partner for Gamescom this year, much like Nintendo who will also make a look.
The caption of the video is paying attention to a new type of material used, which hopefully gives innovation that has not yet thought of in the control industry. Asus has used magnets in some of its game keyboards, and this may be its attempt to transfer these ideas for a new type of controller.
The first ASUS control unit was released in 2023, which gave the company more than enough time to weigh the customer's response and adjust this new controller in any way. The comment during the video says that this controller will help players experience the future of games, which can mean major innovations in pro-control technology, other than just a longer battery life and more responsive buttons and triggers.
Asus first controller, Asus Rog Raikiri Pro, had an incredible battery life of up to 48 hours, which greatly outclasses most other controls on the market. Raikiri Pro was overall a decent controller, but players should be happy about what Asus has learned and built on in recent years. Asus is making a lot of effort to make new ideas for keyboards and mice, and now that innovation can be directed at controls.
