In a game that is about letting you “play with life”, you will surely notice a parallel or two between real life and the swimmers. Whether you have done yourself as a sim and played a fantasy version of life, or if you simply tell stories with your digital dolls, there are some good lessons to remove.
Sims is one of the crazy and more iconic games in the life simulation genre, but what about real life? I definitely do not recommend removing any pool ladders, but I have taken a lesson or two from the various Sims games during my time.
Do you live like this?
Your environment is important to your mood
When you are down in the dumps, it can be easy to let small things stacked up. Objects are placed randomly, debris accumulates here and there, and before you know it, your space has become kind of rough. And don't it make you feel pretty rough too?
In general, we are not intended to thrive in dirt and the mess. It can be a lot of effort to clean up sometimes, especially when your mood is not good, but I always feel a little better when I am in a space that is well decorated and free from litter.
Wish that real life had speed options …
There is not enough time in the day
It is easy to wake up one day and feel that you have blinked and in some way it will already come up at bedtime. Jobs, school, family obligations, friends, romantic partners, clubs you are a part of, volunteering, hobbies, leisure – where are we intended to fit everything?
Especially in the older Sims games, the hours in one day really flew with even normal speed, even less with the accelerated game options! I would love it if I could speed up the boring parts of my day in the name to come to fun, but I would also love to slow down a bit in the nicer moments to enjoy them too.
Sometimes “nice” is nice enough
There is a point of decreasing return on luxury
Every veteran Sims player knows that look at the statistics for an article you are looking at buying from the construction/buying directory, and the same really goes in reality. Especially now on the day of the internet and crowd-sourced reviews, I do not know the last time I made a relatively important purchase without first checking the customer's opinions.
But you will notice that the nicer articles eventually all Offer the very best statistics no matter how much you spent on them. You can have the nicest bed in the world, but you can still just be so comfortable. You can have the finest toilet, but you are still using it to bend. You can only spend so much on an article before the cost is higher than its value.
Expand your horizons
No harm that is trying something you might not expect to like
As part of my job as a staff writer here at Thegamer who routinely writes guides about the latest Sims expansions, I have played a lot of packages for work that I would otherwise never intend to check if they are left to my own units. I've never been an outdoor person, and I don't usually play with pets – Horse Ranch did not go into my alley at all.
However, I ended up having a good time with the content, and I think it shows that sometimes in play, just like in real life, you don't know if you like something until you actually give it a picture for yourself.
Everyone knows something you don't
Talk to people outside your age range
As a woman in the 30s, I have really loved Sage advice from women my grandmother's age, and I have taken on many adoptive parents during my lifetime. On the back are some of the 20-makerings I know some of the brightest senses I have ever chosen. At the same time, it is really true that the kids can say the dares things.
While of course I advocate for keeping all socializations 100 percent appropriate, I think there is something to learn from getting to know people outside your age group. The sims are as ready to become friends with a young adult as they are an older one, and variety is the spice of life.
Fake it until you do
You might suck to a skill at first (and it's okay)
I used to take base guitar lessons with a musician whose style I really admired. I was nowhere near His level of competence, and when I kicked myself to be such a beginner, he said something that has stuck with me in all the skill -building activities then: “Hello, sometimes you just have to suck something until you don't do anymore.”
I was not offended to him and disagree that I was not big – I was inspired. It is not often people are virtuoso who pick up an instrument and have their 15 years of experience playing. Just as your sims start clicking and plunk guitars in the game until they are gradually not as bad, you will build skills in the same way as well.
Progress is strange when you build a skill sometimes. You can work for weeks on the same thing before you get hold of the next step perfectly. You can plateau for months without learning something new before a sudden breakthrough. You can suck on a new trick even with a high level of skill in something. Skill building can be messy, safe, but the exercise does perfectly.
Giving up is not failure
Not everyone is meant to do everything (and that's okay too!)
If your Sims have features that contradict the skill or activity that you ask them to participate in, they will probably not be very good. And although it can be frustrating from a gaming perspective, would you suddenly enjoy that you should try to be good at something completely out of your controlhouse?
While I have always enjoyed creative skills and hobbies, athletism has never been my forte. I am not as likely to feel energetic as an athletic sim would, but they are not as likely to feel inspired as I might. We are all intended to discover and hone our skills during our lives so that we can share them with others, in the swimmers and in reality.
Naked necessities
Cover your basic needs before choosing money
I will not touch on my own experiences, but if you have never shut down because you could not afford to pay the bill, congratulations, proud of you, nice. Regardless of your real perceived experiences, if you have ever tested a Tras-to-Kinges challenge in the swimmers where you buy a plot with land and set your money to zero, you know how free some expenses can be.
No one in their right mind will buy an area mat for a living room when they establish a household before buying a sofa. You would be a fool to buy a decorative mess for your bedroom before you can actually buy a bed. It is not always fun, but financial responsibility is crucial in the game and in reality.
Unfortunately, saying “Motherlode”, a bunch of times high, does not result in millions of dollars deposited to your bank account.
It can and will be better on time
Tender to your mood really makes you happy
I will spare to go over it again too much in this individual post in a list, especially since I wrote a whole function about it a few months ago, but tending to your most basic needs is crucial to feeling good as a person. These negative moods can easily be stacked up, so it is best to make a self -care shed from time to time.
I took free time from work to clean my room, take care of meetings and tax training, enjoy a full body shower, make cookies and see a laser light show with my friends. Whatever you have to do, keeping your needs tended to is the ticket to happiness sometimes.
Just one last hot tip
Fire alarm saves life
Like someone who has put a kitchen fire or two in real life and in the swimmers, just trust me …
