You should have your eye on these toured RPG coming this year

Turn-based RPG does not dominate the RPG genre as they used to, but there are still many new ones that are worth your attention. 2025 has already seen excellent RPG with such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but what about the rest of the year?

We have looked at the rest of this year's release calendar and rounded off toured RPGs who took our attention. From Triple-A to Indie, it is the tour-based RPGs to keep an eye on for the second half of 2025.

Artis influence

Date of Release: August 7 2025

You do not need the triple-A budget to make a good RPG, which Artis Impact looks like it will prove. This Pixel RPG has been made in RPG manufacturers by just one person, and of the appearance of it it is definitely an achievement.

It has hand -drawn pixel graphics that look wonderful, and follows a character called Akane as they explore a world set in the future, inhabited by both people and AI. The game is described as having a “classic” tour -based battle, inspired by retro rpg.

Hiking stars

Date of Release: September 19, 2025

Are you looking for something a little different from your toured RPGs? Wander Stars may be up in your alley. In addition to getting inspiration from tour -based combat systems, Wander Stars also draws from Deckbuilders and Anime to create tour -based battles that turn into real glasses.

As a martial arts artist called Ringo and a scoundrel that goes by Wolfe, you use “words” in the battle to get better for your opponent, with different types of actions, modifiers and elementary words at your disposal. If you like anime, this will definitely be up your street.

Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles

Date of Release: September 30 2025

Square Enix's beloved strategy game, Final Fantasy Tactics, returns with a new recording called Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles. Whether you are familiar with the original or new in the game, this is worth diving in if you are a fan of toured RPG.

As you can guess from the game's name, the combat system means more strategy than your average toured RPG, so it's perfect if you are looking for a combat system with more depth. Remake is also completely voted, unlike the original, which will undoubtedly make the story even harder.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Date of Release: October 2 2025

A new post to the Digimon Story series, Digimon Story Time Stranger lets you travel between the human world and the digital world, where you can gather and bind with Digimon on the way.

In history, you engage in tour -based battles with your digimon. The game has over 450 Digimon you can use in your team, so there will undoubtedly be a lot of room for strategy and adaptation, which makes it as deep as you want it to be. If you love tour -based games but have not tried Digimon, this may be the perfect time to do so.

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake

Date of Release: October 30 2025

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake breathed new life in one of the series' earliest games, and now we have to go back to where it all started with HD-2D remakes by Dragon Quest 1 and 2. The first two stories in the Erdtrick trilogy will be re -enized and polished in Square Enix's HD-12D engine.

Dragon Quest is quite a lot of the king of tour -based RPG, so you know that these games will also be phenomenal. If you did not stop checking out the remake of 3, you can start with 1 and 2 and then go back to 3 and play these masterful 2D RPG in succession.

Octopath Traveler 0

Date of Release: December 4 2025

If you jumped out on the mobile Octopath Traveler game, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, you can experience it later this year with Octopath Traveler 0, sans all Gacha elements (thankfully).

Unlike the first two Octopath Traveler games, you get to design the look of your character with the character creator. You divide your time to rebuild your hometown, recruit allies and fight in turn-based battles. There are more than 30 party members to choose from, so you can customize your eight-person team to your taste.

Cairn: Mathair's curse

Date of release: 2025

From the style of its pixel work and a battle screen, Cairn seems to be: Mathair's curse drawing heavy inspiration from the mother series, which can only be good. However, what sets it apart from mother and other toured RPGs is that it uses Celtic mythology and Scottish culture in its story and environment.

With your party that will help you in turn-based battles, you will explore Albaness, meet a strange dark area and reveal a mysterious conspiracy. The similarities with mother and unique mythology definitely make this interesting to keep an eye on.

The Alliance of the Holy Suns

Date of release: 2025

Turn-based RPG is a bit heavily saturated with fantasy games, so what happens if you prefer sci-fi? If it is you, the alliance of the sacred suns should be on your radar. In this Sci-Fi Grand Strategy RPG you will play as the new emperor of a crumbling empire, do everything you can to manage your court and relationships with the noblemen.

You can customize the background of your character, with your choices that affect how you control your empire, such as deciding what types of projects you can take on. If you love deep strategy systems set in space, this is the toured RPG to watch out for.

Abyss Fantasia

Date of release: 2025

Abyss Fantasia looks like it will be a charming fantasy -rpg, perhaps with similar vibes like Anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It also has hand -drawn graphics, which always makes a game look so much more appealing.

You play as a “missing” girl named Eugaly, who leaves for adventure into the abyss – a huge clover on the continent, where those who are not strong sufficiently lose their reason. The journey will lead you to meet a varied role of characters and find treasures that can be transformed into cards. These cards are what you use in the tour -based battles, and they can change depending on the circumstances you use them in. Abyss is really an exciting concept, and we have to see how the cards are to use in battles.

To the grave: Faenora's wilderness

Date of release: 2025

An adorable red panda mask, beautiful pixel art and inspiration from such as Final Fantasy Tactics? I am already sold. To the grave: Faenora's wilderness starts with your character getting an amulet that allows them to defy death and learn about a mysterious Gryphon, and then you get to explore the wilderness as you want.

Alongside the swing -based strategy, to the grave: Faenora's wilderness also uses roguelite element, so you can try to get further into the wilderness over and over again. If you are looking for something challenging that puts a spin on the tour -based genre, to the grave: Faenora's wilderness looks like one to look out for.
