  • Characters such as Bon Clay, Vivi, Koby, Hancock and Robin unexpected depth and growth.

As one says, first impressions can go very far, but in the world of A bitThere is almost always much more to a character than initially meeting the eye. Over the years, there have been many individuals introduced to the story that, for one reason, gained a specific reputation among many of the fans. As a result, it seemed as if these characters were intended to lead a specific path, but there have still been times where someone has proven that they are much different from what fans may initially have been led to believing.

This can inevitably lead to some fascinating revelations and arcs, which can give much more intrigue for these specific individuals. Although it is not always nice to be proven wrong, in this case it can actually be seen as more positive, because it allows these A bit Signs to show what they are really made of, regardless of the first impression they may have set when they debuted.

Hachi

From Arlong's loyal servants to a happy takoyaki -chef, hachi has come very far

  • First look: section 31

When Hachi is first introduced to the story, he is a little more than a low cruel that works under the harmful fish man called Arlong. Considering the multilean sword man plays a rather less role in Arlong Park Arc early in the story, it was easy for the fans to assume that he was simply a soldier who hated people as much as his leader did, but this would prove not to be true much later in the story.

While Hachi can be seen traveling around in a cover story, he officially returns in Sabaody. This time he is a Takoyaki chef who seems more than happy to guide Luffy and the others around the island, who have a drastically different attitude and personality from the one he had in Arlong Park. It turns out that Hachi is actually a fun, friendly and compassionate character that simply got stuck in the wrong crowd, although it was not easy to withdraw this in the early sections and chapters in history.

Buckingham Stussy

The crazy old pasture turns out to be a previous stone pirate

  • First appearance: section 752

Every time she shows up in the story, Stussy can often be seen who orders around a gigantic brute known as Weevil to take down everyone who she considers a threat. Although he claimed to be a lover of the legendary Whitebeard, and in turn, many fans' mom assumed that she simply falsified this to keep a leash around her neck on her extremely powerful servant.

Much to the surprise of almost everyone, but not only revealed that Stussy was actually close to Whitebeard many years ago, but she even rode with the cliffs Pirates back when they were in her premiere. It does not stay there, as she would also get involved in the Mads group of researchers, which proves to be much more important for Loreen in A bit than anyone could have guessed.

Bon clay

Bon Clay goes from a tower in the straw hat's side to a lovable ally

  • First appearance: Section 78

Bon Clay was originally known as Mr. 2, was one of Crocodile's goons who worked within the organization known as Baroque Works. Because of this, he actually plays the role of a minor antagonist throughout the Alabasta arch, and uses his form -changing devil fruit ability to manipulate his opponents before he then lands an attack, such as how he turns into Nami to prevent Sanji from beating him.

Like the other members of Barock Works, it felt very likely that Bon Clay would disappear after the group was taken down for good, but that is not exactly how things stopped paning. Bon Clay reappears in the Impel Down arch a little later in the series, but it is clear that the abominable and threatening person he put on in Alabasta was simply an act. In reality, he is actually one of the most selfless characters in the entire series and goes so far as sacrificing himself so that Luffy could flee from prison.

Vivi

Vivi is revealed to be much more important than anyone expected

  • First look: section 62

It can be difficult to remember these days, given that Vivi has long been a loyal ally for the straw hats, but it was a time when she was actually their enemy. Back in Whiskey Peak, Vivi was simply known as Miss Wednesday and was actually about to kill the innocent choice, known as Laboon about Luffy and the others had not gone her way. At this point in the story, there had been many antagonists who were introduced before they were quickly sent out not long after, so it would have been understandable if Vivi had continued this trend.

Despite this, however, it turned out that it was much more for Vivi's personal story than any fan could have expected. As the Princess in Alabasta, she would ask the straw hats to help her save her country from being demolished by a civil war and become a temporary crew member for the entire bow. It was easy to see Vivi as yet another villain for Luffy and Zorro to put in their place, so it was definitely a shock when it became clear that she was actually a member of royalty.

Koby

Koby did not remain a twenty case boy very long

  • First look: section 1

Before Oda packed A bit Story with thousands of important characters, the adventure started with just two, they were Luffy and Kobe. While Luffy was the positive and brave one of the duo, who was more than ready to go into a great adventure, Kobe was a weak and cowardly venue who clearly did not have what was required to become a navy. To put it simply, Kobe did not have the heart, soul or strength to take on the responsibilities that come with being a navy, so while many remained doubtful that he would even achieve this position, to say that he proved that the fans would wrong would put it mildly.

After a little brutal training with Garp, Kobe was able to rise through the rankings at a windy pace, to the point where he even participated in the Marineford war and eventually became an honorary member of Svärd. Kobe originally did not seem like a character that would have been so much, but the young boy put in the work to defy all expectations that had been set for him.

Boa Hancock

Hancock proves to be very different from the other shichibukai

  • First look: section 409

Before Luffy meets Boa Hancock on the island of Amazon Lily, he had already encountered a number of warlords who, even though they were different in their goals and abilities, were all ruthless pirates who were more than happy to kill someone who stood up to them. This meant that when Hancock was eventually introduced, Luffy, along with the fans, assumed that she was just like the others. This is actually back up when she sends her sisters to attack Luffy just hours after he wakes up on her island, but this doesn't end up long.

When Hancock actually sits down with Luffy to talk to him, she turns out to be much more compassionate than any of the other warlords, even go as far as sharing her tragic backstory as a slave with someone she just met. Hancock shows that although the warlords can all be Lapdogs who work under the Marine Soldier, they are all still very different in how they actually see their position and who they really are under the surface.

Nico Robin

Robin was hard to trust when she first joined the crew

  • First appearance: section 67

Robin may once have been Crocodile's closest companion, but even after she decided to join Lffy's crew, many fans were still suspected of her real intentions. When everything, as someone with a great interest in d -will, it was not outlandic to assume that she just tagged to get the information she needed before eventually betraying the crew. This is supported by the fact that at the beginning of the Water 7 arc seems to disappear without a trace, which makes it even more likely that she only used the straw hats for her own profit.

Of course A bit Fans are well aware that this could not be any further from the truth, although the exact details of Robin and her past are only revealed several arches later in the Enies lobby. With his home island obliterated by the Marine Soldier and the World Government who relentlessly chased her, Robin simply wanted to find people she could call friends or even the family and proved to the fans that she was much more than just a remaining residue of Crocodile's group of spies.
