Solo departmentSung Jinwoo goes from an underpowered hunter to one of the most powerful creatures in the world. Throughout his journey, he fights some scary enemies that push him to his borders and force him to continue to develop. Among the many dangerous magical animals that Jinwoo defeated, perhaps his most impressive victory was against Ant King, an S-Rank Dungeon manager with ominous forces.
This performance was special because S-Rank Gates rarely spawn, and defeating its bosses is nothing more than a miracle. But since Jinwoo has killed Ant King, what would have happened if he had met the first S-Rank Dungeon chief?
The article is speculative in nature and makes some assumptions to answer the proposed question. To make things easier, it has been assumed that Jinwoo fought Kamish sometime after his victory over Ant King. This is done to avoid confusion since Sung continues to develop, and it is important to get stuck his forces – in this case at a certain time – to make a trained guess.
Who was Kamish?
The first S-Rank Dungeon chief
- Webtoon debut: Chapter 115
- Mak: The fear of the dragon, the Dragon's breath, conversation
Many years before the events in the main history, the first S-Rank Gate created in America. The government was probably proactive, as it attracted the best S-rankers from all over the world to deal with the crisis at hand. But things took a dark turn when a red Western dragon named Kamish managed to get out of the gate after a dungeon. Driven by a blood thirst for humanity, Dungeon boss erupted devastation on the West Coast of the United States.
Destroy everything. It is the only mission assigned to us
The subsequent violence was unbearable, as countless people lost their lives along with about a hundred brave S-Rank Hunters. The battle seemed hopeless when Kamish overwhelmed the American forces, and every attempt to contain his destruction turned out to be fruitless. Just when it seemed as if the S-Rank Dungeon manager was unstoppable, five brave S-rankers together to fight him.
The Ragtag group included China's Liu Zhigang, India's Siddharth Bachchan, an unknown Soeler-type S-ranker, USA Thomas Andre and Christopher Reed. Kamish was ruthless, but the combined forces for these brave hunters managed to bring him down. When the collision ended, the US west coast was in ruins, but countless other deaths had been avoided.
The five hunters who defeated Kamish continued to be rewarded with the title of National Level Hunter. They were also awarded political influence comparable to an entire country and were widely accepted as the best hunters in the world. Kamish's corpses were held in the basement of the Federal Bureau of Hunters.
Jinwoos victory over ant king
A solo triumph that was as followed as Kamish's fall
As mentioned above, defeat Kamish was no small performance, as the best hunters in the world came together to take down the first S-Rank Dungeon chief. Over the next three years, no other gate was created by similar rank on earth. But everything changed when Jeju Island became a victim of a dangerous S-Rank Dungeon. This ended up becoming a crisis that can be compared to that developed on the US West Coast and can be used to draw conclusions about the imagined scenario where Jinwoo tried to clear the first S-Rank Dungeon.

Solo leveling: The identity of this character may be the greatest mystery in the series
Solo Living fans are still looking for an answer to this character's identity.
After the Jeju Island port showed up, the Korean government tried its best to clear it. But all efforts were not successful. Eventually, when the dungeon occurred, the region was surpassed by magical animals and became uncertain for human buildings. In the following years, all other attempts to recover the island failed, and several talented Korean hunters lost their lives. When the fourth Jeju Island Raid Party was organized, the Korean and Japanese top hunters went back from the connections to developed ants who lived there.
Unaware of them, a secret S-Rank Dungeon manager awaited them this time. When Ant King released his murderous eruption, it seemed as if all hope was lost. The Jeju Island Raid Party struggled to even land a blow while suffering from life-threatening injuries or died every time the Dungeon manager attacked.
Everything changed when Sung Jinwoo arrived on the stage and fought against King alone. Korea's 10th S-Rank Hunter overpowered Ant King and defeated the Dungeon chief without ever revealing his real potential. Jinwoos victory was one -sided. While the battle against Kamish was much more fatal and demanded countless sacrifices, he was defeated by the five national hunters, who also largely remained unharmed in the fight.
Sung Jinwoo relied on its healing powers to avoid serious injuries, while national hunters were probably dependent on the only world -class heal with them. The hero probably played a critical role in their success, something that Jeju Island Raid Party seemed to have tried to replicate before my Byung-gyu was killed by Ant King. While victory over Kamish was an extraordinary performance, Sung Jinwoos triumph was simply a miracle.
Can Sung Jinwoo have cleared the first S-Rank Dungeon?
Only Jinwoo has the power to defeat Kamish alone
Defeating Kamish was no small performance and demanded the combined efforts from the five national hunters. While he was obviously quite stronger than Ant King, the latter was no pushover as well. He killed on his own top Japanese hunter with a single strike and could easily have wiped out the entire Jeju Island Raid Party, Jinwoo had not intervened. Although some of the best S-rankers were attracted to fight Ant King, most would have met the same fate, and injured would have been equally bad during Kamish's rampage.
Let's say I'm a hunter who gets stronger from every struggle. How strong you think I can get? ~ Sung Jinwoo
Therefore, Sung Jinwoo's victory over the secret Jeju Island S-Rank Gate Boss is no less than a miracle. What makes it really impressive is the fact that he barely seemed tired and could potentially continue to fight if the situation required. In addition, he did not even release his full potential during the battle. Had Sung Jinwoo met Kamish in America instead of national hunters, the battle would have been much more intense.
Sung Jinwoo would not have had the luxury of holding back or feeling that he was sure to win. Kamish would have pushed Jinwoo to his physical boundaries and forced him to develop during the battle to get an advantage. But it had not been the first time he had been in such a situation. Apart from defeating Ant King, Jinwoo had already conquered S-Rank Demon Castle by defeating Baran. On both occasions, he did not use his shadow champion to fight against the manager directly.
All of these experiences would have given Jinwoo an advantage, unlike the national level hunters that were driven into a life-and-dead situation without any previous education for a battle on that scale. While Jinwoo would have fought against Kamish, he would eventually have been able to push past Kamish's defense to secure a victory. At the same time, his shadowmé, which included Ant King, would also have been able to fight other magical animals in the dungeon and eventually cleaned it to protect humanity from Kamish's anger.
