Some Playstation Plus Users have interrupted their subscriptions for the first time in several years of being members, citing frustrations with Sony's management of the service. Although Playstation Plus gives a variety of free games every month, some Playstation fans left who want more than free games in their library.

Every month, Sony updates its range of free games like Playstation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers can access and agree with their subscriptions, as long as users renew them. Playstation Plus Premium Tier provides access to classic PS1, PS2 and PSP games, along with Cloud Streaming for PS3 and PS5 games. Extra and premium levels also have access to the Playstation Plus game directory, which sees new additions and removals each month. The former Playstation Plus subscriber is upset over price increases over the years and the service's offers and notes the lack of Playstation Plus discounts and stacking with discounts with limited time in the Playstation store. In addition, Anthonybrothers says Fomo, or fear of missing, was an important factor in their enjoyment of Playstation Plus to decrease over time. Since PS4 and PS5 games leave the Playstation Plus directory regularly, the user believes that subscribers are pressured to play some games and add them to their order stocks, and other players note that they do not have time to play many of the games that Playstation Plus offers. For players who own several systems, this potentially adds the problem that some players encounter, as the playing time is further divided between these systems.

Although Anthonybrothers was tempted to renew their Playstation Plus subscription, they decided to cancel it and play some of the old games they bought that they could not play when they quit and earned Platinum trophooks presented in the monthly Playstation Plus catalog. The user believes that there have been 100 more Reddit posts such as theirs, and the comments under their posts seem to reinforce that belief. Reddit users like First_historyman, Rlexii and Ilovesushi5 have already canceled their subscriptions, as they have found value in buying games separately or playing newer single-player titles as Road for exile 2 or Attacks. However, some players like Filan1 warn that players should back up their savings locally on PS4 and PS5 before cancel their subscriptions, as online savers will be removed and can cause players to lose progress in their games.

Although Playstation Plus subscriptions may no longer provide enjoyment to some players, there are still some exclusive features that users may want to benefit from, including cloud flow and access to free classic games at the premium level. Playstation Plus Extra and Premium may, however, want to note the games that leave the service soon.
