Continues from the previous paragraph. Different flavors of villains also mean a wide range of dungeons. From Snow Plains to solid cave systems to Burning Sky Scrappers, every major battle during Season 2 takes place in unique places that differ from the previous season.

The most unique dungeon of them must be the above -mentioned snow plains. This dungeon belongs to the red gate shown in the early parts of season 2. Unlike other dungeons that usually take the hunters to narrow places such as caves or some city blocks, this prison hole is transporting the hunter to a truly open snow plain with lush forests and snowy mountain chains.

The first season of Solo department is a story about how a low e-rank hunter rises to become a powerful S-rank hunter. It is the familiar story zero-to-hero. However, the second season is a little different. It still revolves around Sung Jin-Woo's meteoric rise, but this time the story is developed to reveal something much more complicated and unfortunate.

In the very first arc of the new season, Red Gate Incident Arc, the story reveals that someone forced monsters to attack people, and the system will censor all monsters trying to talk about this strange state. Not only that, but these monsters apparently do not consider Sung Jin-Woo as a human being at all.

As it turns out, Monarch of Shadows is not just a title for a highly ranked necromancer. Monarchs are actually high creatures that exercise enormous magical power. During the rest of the season, it is also revealed that the monarchs have some unfortunate plans that can draw humanity into a sacred war that has been going on for Eons.
