Dragon Ball Daima: Where does it fit in the timeline?

Let's see where the Dragon Ball Daima fits into the series' timeline.

From the return to a childish goku to intergalactic adventures, Daima seems to embrace some of GT's themes while refining them for a modern audience. Whether these moments are intentional tributes or occasions, they stand out as familiar beats for long -term fans. Here are the biggest moments in the Dragon Ball Daima who feel inspired by GT.

Spoilers for the entire Dragon Ball Daima!

Turn Goku into a child

Now everyone else is also children

Just looking at a trailer for Dragon Ball Daima shows the largest element taken directly from Dragon Ball GT: Goku turns into a child. This also happens because of a desire for Dragon Balls, but the wishes paint not only Goku, but also all his friends.

In both programs, the goal is to go back to the old adventure tone of the show, back when Goku was just a child, and we didn't know he was a stranger. One thing Daima does differently is that Goku does not seem to have lost any power, especially when he turns into Super Saiyan 3.

To have a space adventure in a small ship

Replace planets with demon -threads

The set for the adventure in both DAAMA and GT is almost identical: Gather a new set of dragon balls in foreign worlds to return to a desire and save the earth. Sure, in Daima, the earth is not in danger yet, but King Gomah can easily put his view on that planet if he remains free.

Gokus's wild discoveries and his lack of subtlety shines in both exhibitions, where there are plenty of battles, but that is not always the focus. All this makes the story structure feel strange like Dragon Ball GT, at least the first arch, which is not as focused on constant duels with villains as Z and Super are.

5

Panzy as a parallel with pan

They are basically called the same

Both Pan and Panzy earn similar roles in their respective shows, to be themselves children who sometimes have to be more mature than Goku to solve a given problem. Pan had a robot mate that helped the group technically, while Panzy is a technological genius that constantly repairs the many machines they use to get around.

8 Sonic The Hedgehog Things inspired by Dragon Ball

Sonic and Dragon Ball have quite a lot in common.

Panzy's name is so similar to Pan's makes us think that it must be a direct reference. In the long term, the relationship between these characters and Goku may not be the same, but their role in the story is really much.

4

King Gomah as a parallel by Emperor Pilaf

A call back to gous first remarkable enemy

While Goku has met many rulers and monarchs, the similarities between Gomah and Pilaf are unpleasant. They are both responsible for the desire that transforms Goku into a child, they are very childish themselves and they are extremely incompetent to be villains.

Although not related to Dragon Ball GT, Gomah's outfit is strange like Jiren's from Dragon Ball Super.

Towards the end of Daima, Gomah becomes more threatening than Pilaf ever, but this also seems to be a nod, not to Pilaf, but for the child. Baby was the first real villain Dragon Ball GT, which also started child -like but stopped being the monster that drives Goku into a new transformation.

3

Gendarmerie Force as the compulsory posing characters

Dragon Ball GT had Para Brothers

Dragon Ball has a history of characters who dance and pose in an outland manner, with the most iconic group of those who are all the Ginyu strength. They were a force to be expected at that time, and even Dragon Ball Super has had posing and dancing characters in both Tournament of Power Arc and in the Super Hero movie.

How many Dragon Ball games are there?

The Dragon Ball franchise has a long history in video games.

Now the dance groups in both GT and Daima are very similar, especially in their lack of power compared to Goku. In the Dragon Ball GT, the Para -brothers use hypnotic dances to deceive opponents that they cannot beat, and in Daima, the Gendarmerie Force uses use to torment their enemies into a false sense of fear.

2

The red colored dragon

Green it fits better

Dragon Ball has had many variants of the titular Dragon Balls, where each calls their own version of the desired dragon. The one called by Earth's Dragon Balls (Shenron) looks like a traditional Chinese dragon, while the one called by Namekian Dragon Balls (Porunga) looks more like a Human-Lizard hybrid with a snake's bottom, almost resembled a scaly DJinn.

These designs are relevant because, in Dragon Ball GT, Black Star Dragon Balls that turns Goku into a child calling Ultimate Shenron, a dragon that looks like Shenron but with red scales and golden horns. Similarly, Demon Realm Dragon Balls calls a red version of Porunga, a clear nod for the aforementioned Ultimate Shenron.

Goku turns into Super Saiyan 4

It's literally the same shape

When a child's appearance Goku meets his latest enemy, his reliable Super Saiyan 3 form is just not enough. Then, thanks to a power-up that seems closer to a ritual than something obtained through exercise, Goku rises to the Super Saiyan 4 level, with red fur that covers his body and new clothes reminiscent of fusion technology.

This event occurs in both Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Daima, where the latter referred to the former. The biggest difference is that Daima Goku keeps his child -like body, but beyond that, the form is the next step for Goku to master.
