New co-op game will appeal to Legend of Zelda fans

Zelda fans may want to check out an upcoming Co-OP RPG that seems to take a lot of inspiration from the iconic Nintendo franchise.

Nintendo has now announced that it collaborates with Universal Studios to rent out Alarmo units to hotel guests. The partnership will be offered at all Universal Studios Japan's official hotels, with a total of seven participation. The offer began on February 3, although Nintendo has not announced an end date for it. Hotel guests will be able to rent out Alarmo and an AC adapter for it at the reception when they check in, after which they will have to set it in their room themselves. An extra fee is not mentioned to test Alarmo.

As with many Nintendo products, Alarmo has seen an extreme demand. Although it has remained available for sale in the West in the online store, it has only been available for Nintendo Switch online subscribers, possibly partly to prevent excessive scaling. From March 2025, Alarmo will be in selected stores, so more fans will have the opportunity to try it then. At the same time, in Japan, Alarmo would be sold in physical stores that began in February, but has since been pushed back to an announcement date.

While some may see Alarmo as a simple gimmick, it has been quite popular with some fans, and binding it to Univerral Studios Japan Park makes sense. The park is home to Super Nintendo World, and Nintendo encourages fans to use Alarmo to wake up to a Nintendo-filled day before going down to the park. However, there is no announcement to bring Alarmo to Western Park counterparts. If such cooperation occurs, it may be when Univerral Studios Orlando opens Super Nintendo World later in 2025.
