Akatsuki is the primary villain group in the Naruto series, led by different individuals at different points in the story. They are known to be incredibly powerful, strong enough to rival even the Kage of the Naruto world. Due to their massive capacity, taking one down is incredibly difficult for the vast majority of people. That said, over the years Kishimoto has introduced quite a few powerful ninjas who have done extremely well against them and taken down quite a few of their members, etching their names into the history books in the process.

Naruto Uzumaki
The main character of the series, Naruto Uzumakihas taken on quite a few members of the Akatsuki in the series, and as such has defeated quite a few of them as well. The first Akatsuki that Naruto himself took down was Kakuzu, and he did so with his newly developed technique at the time, the Rasenshuriken. With the Rasenshuriken, Naruto was able to obliterate two of Kakuzu's hearts, putting him on death's door, and it really showed how much he had grown in battle.
Naruto also defeated Pain, the leader of the Akatsuki, and later came into conflict with Obito in the Fourth Great Ninja War and defeated him as well. Clearly, he is one of the most effective ninjas in taking down the members of Akatsuki.
Killer Bee
Killer Bee clashed with several members of the Akatsuki and did incredibly well against them. His first encounter with an Akatsuki came when Sasuke infiltrated Kumogakure and traded blows with him. It didn't take long for Killer Bee to defeat Sasuke Uchiha despite his acquisition of the Mangekyou Sharingan.
Had it not been for Sasuke's allies constantly healing him over and over again, Killer Bee would have walked away with an easy victory. That said, in the end he managed to escape the battle by using a switch technique, but still, this clash against Sasuke was most certainly a victory for him. He also clashed with Kisame later down the line and once again obliterated him with his powers, showing clear dominance.
Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most powerful characters in the Naruto series, and he also went on to clash with several members of the Akatsuki. His first Akatsuki clash came against Deidara, which was a phenomenal battle where he used his wits as well as his Sharingan abilities to the absolute highest level.
Sasuke's powers allowed him to defeat Deidara, albeit at great cost. Later down the line, he clashed with Itachi Uchiha and managed to defeat him as well. Sasuke also faced Obito Uchiha in the Fourth Great Ninja War and together with Naruto managed to defeat him. Without a doubt, he is one of the most incredible ninjas when it comes to taking down members of the Akatsuki.
Sakura Haruno
Sakura Haruno received his fair share of attention at the beginning of Naruto Shippuden, and Kishimoto even had his clash with Sasori, one of the main fighters of the Akatsuki. Along with Chiyo, Sakura demonstrated her brilliant control over medical ninjutsu as well as her fighting prowess.
Despite Sasori being strong enough to take out even a Kage-level individual, Sakura did extremely well against him in battle, absolutely demolishing him with her superhuman strength. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sakura also clashed with several White Zetsu clones and even aided in the fight against Obito Uchiha, which only further elevates her status as a fighter.
Shikamaru Nara
Shikamaru Nara is one of the weakest members of the Konoha 11, but even he managed to take down a member of the Akatsuki, Hidan. In terms of strength or even jutsu, Shikamaru was completely outclassed by Hidan, but due to Asuma's death and the knowledge it gave him regarding Hidan's abilities, he developed a foolproof strategy that allowed him to wipe out this member of Akatsuki.
Shikamaru was able to chop him up into pieces and bury him alive in the Nara Forest. To this day, Hidan is likely buried there, considering it was the only way to take him down.

Naruto Uzumaki has many powerful abilities, and some of them can even kill an Otsutsuki.
Obito Uchiha
Obito Uchiha was one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki, but he also played his part in facing them in battle and taking them down. After the events of the Pain's Assault arc, Obito Uchiha sought out Konan, who was in Amegakure at the time. His goal was to get to Nagato's body and steal his Rinnegan, but to do that he had to get through Konan first.
This fight was incredibly intense and saw the latter making preparations, so she revealed jutsus that shocked both Obito and the fans. After all, Obito was able to take Konan down in the end, and much of that was accomplished due to the use of the Uchiha Forbidden Jutsu from Izanagi. Thanks to all his abilities, Obito managed to defeat her, although this battle was extremely difficult for him and left him badly wounded.
Itachi Uchiha
Itachi Uchiha was one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki and a famous ninja whose reputation made him feared throughout the world. While Itachi served as one of the strongest members of the group, his true intention was to gather all information about this organization and keep them away from Konoha for as long as possible.
While part of Akatsuki, Itachi clashed with several members, and that includes Orochimaru. The goal of the legendary Sanin was to steal his body, but Itachi managed to defeat him without even looking at him. With his incredibly powerful Paralysis Genjutsu, Itachi made quick work of the Sanin, defeating him within seconds. The fact that he accomplished this without even going all out shows how strong he really was.
Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake is one of the most legendary Jonin in the Naruto series, and it goes without saying that he ran into many members of the Akatsuki. Kakashi's first battle against the Akatsuki came during Gaara's rescue mission, where he traded blows with Deidara. Revealing the power of Kamui for the very first time, Kakashi was able to tear him apart completely, leaving him at death's door. Had the other members of Akatsuki not found Deidara, he would most likely have died from blood loss.
Later in the line, he also traded blows with Kakuzu and was actually the one who dealt him the death blow. All in all, Kakashi ended up destroying two of his hearts. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, he also clashed with Obito Uchiha and stabbed him in the heart with a powerful Chidori, winning the brief match. Kakashi then went on to save the world and paved the way for the sealing of Kaguya Otsutsuki, all of which led to him becoming the sixth Hokage of the village. To this day, he remains one of the most legendary ninja Konoha has ever produced.
