The First Hokage of Konoha, Hashirama Senju, was an absolute monster, considered one of the strongest shinobi in history. Although Hashirama was incredibly powerful, he wasn't the strongest. With each generation, new powerful ninjas began to appear and many continued to reach levels that far surpassed Hashirama Senjus. At the end of Naruto series, Kishimoto had established an incredibly powerful cast of characters, all of whom had left the First Hokage in the dust and attained godlike levels of power in one way or another.
Naruto: 32 strongest characters in the series
These Naruto characters are the strongest individuals in the series.

Obito Uchiha
Obito Uchiha was an incredibly powerful member of the Uchiha clan who had immense strength up his sleeve. He was a late bloomer and only awakened to his full power in the Third Great Ninja War. After being trained by Madara himself, Obito attained immense strength, but his powers reached a whole new level in the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he became the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails.
After reaching this level, Hashirama openly proclaimed that he was inferior to Obito in terms of overall power. It took a concerted effort from the entire Shinobi Alliance to bring down Obito, and even that was only made possible by his reluctance to fight them in the first place. With the power of the Six Paths Senjutsu and an arsenal of weapons capable of destroying the world, Obito was virtually unbeatable in this state.

Maybe guy
Maybe guy is one of the strongest ninjas in Naruto's world, and his true powers were only shown in the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he fully harnessed the power of the Eight Inner Gates. By opening the Gate of Death, Might Guy reached a level where he could even overwhelm Madara Uchiha in battle. In fact, a single punch from Guy would be enough to cause fatal damage to Hashirama Senju.
His strongest attack, Night Guy, was enough to see him nearly kill Madara Uchiha, who only survived the battle due to the immortality that came with becoming the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki. Had it not been for the regeneration powers, Madara would have easily died. The fact that Madara even declared him the strongest he had fought over the years clearly means that he was superior to Hashirama in terms of overall skills.

Rock Lee
Rock Lee is quite similar to Might Guy in terms of how he fights. Although his true peak has never been shown in the series, it has been officially stated that Lee can now open all eight inner gates. On top of that, he has surpassed Might Guy in terms of Taijutsu. This means that Lee is a shinobi even stronger than Guy, and at his peak he should be even stronger with the eight inner gates.
Lee should be able to deal devastating damage to even a ten tails enemy. Although Hashirama is strong, he has no defense against such monstrous power and is clearly inferior to this strength.

Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha was Hashirama's rival and equal in many ways. He sought to surpass Hashirama and establish himself at the pinnacle of the era, but could only do so after awakening the Rinnegan. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara took his powers a step further by becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails, and when that happened, he was well above Hashirama's level.
He gained the power of immortality and also the Six Paths Senjutsu, making him basically invincible to the vast majority. His jutsu could end the entire planet, and not even all the Kage together could fight him. Madara was in a league of his own in the Fourth Great Ninja War until Black Zetsu beat him to bring back Kaguya Otsutsuki. Regardless, he was much stronger than his rival Hashirama.
Naruto: 6 villains stronger than Akatsuki
Akatsuki were strong, but they were far from the most powerful villains in the Naruto series.
3
Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake was always known to be an incredibly talented ninja ever since he was very young. However, his true powers were only shown in the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he received the Six Paths Powers from Obito Uchiha temporarily. During this short period, Kakashi was able to reach extremely high levels of strength. In fact, he was even able to rival Kaguya Otsutsuki in terms of power, dealing her fatal blows, which she struggled to recover from.
Without Kakashi, it would have been impossible to seal Kaguya. Of course, this power-up was only temporary for him, but even so, at this particular time, he had surpassed even Hashirama Senju in terms of total power. It is unfortunate that after this battle, Kakashi's Six Paths Powers were lost forever.

Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha went on to reach godlike levels of strength in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Not only did he awaken the power of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, but he also went on to attain the Rinnegan after meeting the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki. After receiving half of his chakra, Sasuke's left eye transformed into a Rinnegan, and this gave him enough strength to not only match but overwhelm Ten-Tails Madara. Sasuke could easily split him and counter all of his jutsu effectively.
Later, when Kaguya Otsutsuki arrived, Sasuke was able to match her in battle on several occasions, showing incredible levels of power. As an adult, Sasuke grew even stronger to the point where he could match the other Otsutsuki, such as Momoshiki and Kinshiki, quite easily. It goes without saying that Sasuke is far stronger than Hashirama Senju in battle, and that his overall strength is unmatched by most.

Naruto Uzumaki
The strongest ninja to appear in the Naruto series is undoubtedly the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto was born with the power of the Nine-Tails, but he went on to master it completely in the Fourth Great Ninja War. In this war, he also went on to face the Sage of the Six Paths, who gave him half of his powers, allowing him to use the Six Paths Senjutsu. When Naruto combined this with the chakra of the Nine Tailed Beasts, he continued to awaken the Six Paths Sage Mode, and this gave him enough strength to rival not only Madara Uchiha, but also Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Naruto achieved a power that far surpassed Hashirama Senju, and it goes without saying that his total strength was greater than any Hokage that has ever existed in history. He continued to grow further over the years, and by the time he became Hokage, he was the undisputed strongest ninja to exist in history. As an adult, Naruto achieved even greater strength when he harnessed the power of Baryon Mode and was able to overwhelm even Isshiki Otsutsuki, cementing himself as a god among ninjas. Unfortunately, Naruto has since remained sealed away, but his return becomes more imminent with each passing chapter of Boruto.
