7 old characters that need more attention in the Dragon Ball Super sequel

With gods, multiverses, and ultraforms greater than anything we've seen, Dragon Ball Super took the series to new heights. In the sequel, many of the classic characters, especially those closely connected Dragon Ball Zwere either pushed aside or not used enough. This focus makes sense for the main story, but fans worldwide often point to familiar faces who still seem to have untapped potential and are ready for bigger roles than just cameos or background appearances.

These characters do more to the universe than just giving it Saiyan power spikes and god-level transformations. Some of them are martial artists who fight alongside Earth's defenders against a great threat, while others have hidden strength or emotional depth. It's a good time to bring them back into focus as a sequel is coming out soon. The sequel can either continue the story where Super left off or introduce new threats and storylines. In order of how little people think about them, here are seven old characters that Dragon Ball Super should pay more attention to.

Dragon Ball Super: All Main Characters Ages and Heights

The cast of Dragon Ball Super continues to expand on the mainstay of the series. Here's what you need to know about the main characters.

7

Tien Shinhan

Tien Shinhan in Dragon Ball Super

Tien Shinhan used to be one of the strongest people and fighters in the land Dragon Ball world. He was presented as a rival who was very strict and good at what he did. Tien was so good at martial arts that he almost beat Goku in the World Martial Arts Tournament. He then used Tri-Beam attacks on Semi-Perfect Cell to keep the humans fighting for Earth safe.

Ten have been involved DB Super a few times, but only for short scenes or training sessions. However, both the anime and manga show that he is still important in a world full of gods and multiverse warriors because he is so good at ki, has many different techniques, and is so determined. Tien fans want him to do more than just tell jokes and help out. They want him to be a true mentor and strategist who can mix old school martial arts with new school fighting.

Android 18

Android 18 Dragon Ball

In Cell Saga, Android 18 was one of the most dangerous enemies. Dr. Gero's experiments turned her into a cyborg with unlimited Ki and monstrous power. After the Cell Saga ended and during her time with the Z fighters, she changed her mind and decided to become a friend and one of the strongest Z Fighters after she married Krillin. In the Tournament of Power i Dragon Ball Supershe even battled Universe 7's defenders.

But her home life often gets in the way of her being a good warrior, and in Super she doesn't always get the attention she deserves. She is very strong and has been through a lot. She can easily fight strong warriors and protect her family, but the series keeps her out of the action too often. Fans want 18 to be the main character in future arcs so she can show off her energy projection, toughness, and strategic battle skills instead of just being a sidekick or babysitter.

Master Roshi

Master Roshi Dragon Ball Super

Master Roshi is one of the most famous characters in the Dragon Ball. He did the Kamehameha. But every new generation of the series since DBZ has had trouble fully including him. Roshi shines briefly in Super during the Tournament of Power. He uses a Kamehameha powered by life energy, which ends up knocking him down briefly, but Goku saves him.

People should care about Roshi for more than just the memories. He is a mentor, thinks strategically and is willing to give up everything for his students. Roshi has seen the world change from a simple view of martial arts to a view of conflict on a cosmic scale. His experience and heart could give the story more emotional depth and even surprise moments of power. Fans would love to see him teach a new generation how to use wisdom instead of power and remind the series why the original fighters were so important.

4

Pikkon

Pikkon Dragon Ball Z

Pikkon is a unique character in Dragon Ball fan base. Although he was a very important character in the Dragon Ball Z: Second World Tournament filler arc, he doesn't really have anything to do with the main story and is considered non-canon. Fans like him because he's serious, good at martial arts, and fought Goku in the afterlife. He wasn't in the original manga, but he's still very popular. Many fans wanted Toriyama to find a way to make his character canon, but unfortunately that never happened, Toei was still able to find a way to make him canon and part of the main story.

Pikkon's calm strength and disciplined presence make him a good character for both fighting and story ideas. If Toei puts him or a character with a similarly grounded cricket look in Super's sequel, the cast could be more varied than just Saiyan transcendence. Fans would love to see him battle gods from both the past and present. This would connect the old martial arts with the new power scaling coming after DB Super.

The huge cast of Dragon Ball is constantly growing. Of the franchise's many characters, a handful have stuck around from the very beginning.

3

Majin Buu

IN Dragon Ball ZMajin Buu was introduced as the big bad final boss of the series, the strongest of the strongest beings. He later becomes a comedic sidekick who is popular with fans but lacks any real character development. His abilities are very interesting: he can be brought to life even from a small fragment; it is almost impossible to kill him forever. You can never tell what trouble he will bring. One minute he's yelling at his enemies; the next minute he is like a child. Although he was part of a major arc in Super, he ended up sleeping through it.

It is believed that Buu's power is wasted when he transforms or ventures into other mischief. He can also be brought out as the main character again, just in another story where he saves the world using his healing powers or something. It seems he has delayed taking on more challenging and significant challenges. Actually, a sequel that puts him in the spotlight would probably bring immense joy to many who want the show to remember how terrifying he once was.

Oops

Uub Dragon Ball Z

Uub is exciting because he resembles Kid Buu, but he is different because he has a kind heart. He stands for hope or something like that, a new beginning for those who protect the planet. Goku's next student at the end of DBZ is a youngster with great potential. Super doesn't show up often though, as his timeline makes it difficult. When he does, it's either for a short period of time or never.

Dragon Ball: 7 characters who can lead their own series

Dragon Ball will always be Goku's story, but these characters deserve the spotlight just as much.

Believing that Uub's relationship with Buu and his secret power could result in exciting character development, fans are eager for him to take the lead. Goku and Vegeta could train together. This would create a link between the past and the future. If used correctly, his story can really fit into the main story and pay homage to the past.

1

Tarble

Tarble Dragon Ball Yo Son Goku and his friends return

A character with huge potential that really needs to make a comeback would definitely be Vegeta's younger brother, Tarble. A character so shrouded in mystery; how is he so different from vegeta? Why did he never visit Earth before? Why didn't he want to meet his brother even though he admired him? It's strange yet an intriguing plot that Tarble is Vegeta's younger brother since most pureblood Saiyans are bloodthirsty and hungry for battle, but he's a kind one.

Although he is considered a canon character, he has only made appearances in Dragon Ball's OVAs or many specials. Not only is he Vegeta's brother, but he also changes the behavior of Saiyans, so people have always wanted more of him. Super was able to bring his character back in a unique way for him to gain strange abilities while training or maintaining composure. It would give the Saiyan story more nuance, which it sometimes lacks.
