Many fans grew up watching One Piecewitness Luffy's adventures from one island to another as he gets closer to his dreams of becoming the next Pirate King and finding the One Piece treasure with his beloved team. It's been more than a decade, though One Piece is already in its last saga, which means it will soon end.
One Piece: Oda reveals what will happen after Luffy becomes the Pirate King
Luffy will become the pirate king. Oda reveals what's coming next in One Piece.
The end of One Piece would be a satisfying chapter to end, but it would be incredibly missed when it actually happened. Fortunately, there are some modern anime with the potential to follow in its footsteps One Piece. These modern anime can't replace Oda's masterpiece, but they have the potential to fill the void that the long-running series will leave when it ends.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead
Seeing Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead on this list may come as a surprise, as this apocalyptic anime never quite became a mainstream hit. While the series received a live-action adaptation, it was not successful enough to attract more attention to the anime series. Even worse, longtime fans endured multiple delays during the anime's airing, overshadowing the high standard set by its impressive debut episode.
Still, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is a fun adventure anime that follows a group of optimistic characters navigating a zombie apocalypse with humor and ambition. It's satire, relatable and surprisingly heartfelt, along with its chaotic zombie action. With its unique charm, we hope the series gets another season to continue the wild ride.
Sakamoto days
First season of Sakamoto days was not immediately well received, mostly due to the underwhelming animation that left many manga fans frustrated. After all, the manga series created by Yuto Suzuki is already exceptional, so the anime adaptation was supposed to take Taro Sakamoto's journey to another level. The future still looks promising Sakamoto daysthanks to its growing popularity among shonen fans.
Just like One Piece, Sakamoto days is not too complicated. The story is simple and doesn't require fans to think too much, as Taro Sakamoto is a retired assassin turned grocery store owner, but trouble always finds him in the form of relentless killers. Sakamoto is tormented every day by these assassins, but he always ends up defeating them with unconventional weapons.
Gachiakuta
When Gachiakuta premiered in the summer of 2025, many viewers went in with few expectations. After all, the series was a new entry in the action-fantasy genre, and there were plenty of better anime out there in the summer lineup. Fortunately, many fans were pleasantly surprised and found themselves captivated by the characters and their strange abilities, as well as the unique plot of Gachiakuta.
Also, Studio Bones did a great job animating the first season of the series. The animation was angular and grainy, capturing the harshness of the world and the fluidity of the battle scenes. It may not be as easy as One Piecebut the absurd humor of Gachiakuta injects comic relief at just the right moment. The anime has only just started, but it already shows enough promise to make sticking with it well worth your time.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles
Remember when Mashleopening song, Bling-Bang-Bang-Borntook the anime world by storm? That is a clear sign of that Mashle: Magic and Muscles has captured the hearts of anime fans and even non-anime fans around the world.
The story of Mash Burnedead, a complete anomaly in a world ruled by wizards and witches, follows his outrageous antics as a non-magic user who is constantly mistaken for someone with extraordinary magical powers. The plot itself is simple and humorous, as Mash lacks magical abilities but has the muscles to make up for it.
Just like One Piece, Mashle is an action-packed anime that also delivers outrageous humor. And like Luffy, Mash is incredibly unpredictable and drives a lot of the fun in the series.

Chainsaw man
Just like Sakamoto days, Chainsaw man has a bright future ahead. The most obvious proof of that is the successful theatrical run of the Reze movie, which proved that Chainsaw Man is not just a hit anime but a potential cultural phenomenon. The series has only released one TV anime adaptation, but it has already received an anime film, proving its huge appeal to fans.
Chainsaw man literally turns its protagonist into a freak of nature, with Denji turning into a terrifying humanoid chainsaw monster. On the surface, the anime looks simple, but the series delves into the terrifying world of devils and humanity's primal fears, making every moment pulsate with excitement.
Solo Leveling
Let's face it, Solo Leveling has already earned its place in the big anime league. It's only released two seasons, but the number of fans rallying behind Sung Jinwoo and his formidable shadow army is a clear testament to its massive success and influence. Even Crunchyroll's anime of the year award was given Solo Levelingwhich further reinforces the unstoppable popularity of the series.
While Solo Leveling is not as long as One Piecethe anime based on Chugong's original work has captivated fans with its aura-farming main character who never fails to show how powerful he is over everyone else in the series. Every time Jinwoo steps onto the battlefield, fans are treated to stunning fight sequences that make him appear cold as ice but blazing with deadly power.
If Solo Leveling continues to receive seasonal adaptations, it wouldn't be surprising if it competes with long-running anime like One Piece and Naruto in influence or fandom.
DanDaDan
There are so many things to like Dan Da Danfrom its incredible animation courtesy of Science SARU and humorous characters and their witty banter to how the series effectively mixes anime genres to no end. If aliens are indeed real, they will probably enjoy watching the first season of Dan Da Dan, for.
Dan Da Dan has all the ingredients to be the next big shonen phenomenon after One Piece. It's action-packed, fun and full of radiant energy. And the best part is that the source material is still in progress. This just means that fans who stick with it can look forward to many more wild adventures down the road.
