7 characters that will surpass the old generation

Boruto is currently in its second half, called Two Blue Vortex, and each next-gen character that was once raw talent has grown tremendously now. During the 3-year time jump, Boruto characters have started to show quite a lot of promise, and some of them have even reached sky-high levels already.

While at one point there was a debate as to whether Boruto characters can continue to surpass characters from Naruto, now, with each passing chapter, it looks more and more like a certainty. Yet, in a plethora of Boruto characters, there are only a handful that can actually continue to surpass the old generation.

Shikadai Nara

Shikadai Nara is the son of Shikamaru, and given that he is blessed with the talents of both his mother and father, he is a worthy candidate when it comes to suppressing Shikamaru. Shikamaru was not the best of Shinobi when it came to battle. His IQ is what he's known for, and it's something that Shikadai also excels at.

Still, he hasn't had his moment to shine yet. But the little focus he has been given has been enough to tell fans that he has huge potential and that he can continue to surprise his father in more ways than one.

Chocho Akimichi

Chocho is the daughter of Choji and is truly a very underrated ninja. Although not many fans pay attention to her abilities, Chocho can actually use the Expansion Jutsu of the Akimichi Clan with great skill.

If that wasn't enough, fans should remember that she has greatly strengthened herself during the 3-year time jump to the point where she can even land attacks on Jura and Mamushi. Chocho is far from the finished product, but she may well go on to surpass Choji.

Kawaki

Kawaki is already one of the strongest characters in Boruto, especially after the timeskip. He has access to Karman's powers, which he seems to have full control over. In addition to that, he also has Isshiki's abilities, such as Daikokuten and Sukunahikona.

All of these powers together make Kawaki a monster in battle. At his peak he will be stronger than Isshiki Otsutsuki, and at a level far above Naruto characters.

Himawari Uzumaki

Himawari didn't play much of a role in the early parts of Boruto. But right now, she's getting the much-deserved attention. Himawari was revealed to be one with Kurama very recently, and the fact that Daemon considered her a massively overpowered individual only shows that she may very well continue to surpass the previous generation of ninja.

Himawari is still quite young and has a long way to go before she reaches her prime as a ninja, but fans can rest assured that she's already on the right track.

Sarada Uchiha

Sarada Uchiha is the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, and she has inherited the best of both. Sarada can surely continue to surpass her parents, and she must, because the plot demands it. She wants to become Hokage in the future, and to reach this position she must surpass the previous generation.

Sarada still has a long way to go before she gets past either Sakura or Sasuke. But she certainly has the potential to do so, especially after she awakens her Mangekyo Sharingan.

Boruto Uzumaki

Boruto Uzumaki is the strongest ninja in the Naruto series at this point, and he has matured tremendously over the years. Boruto was trained by Sasuke during the time jump in the series, and right now he has reached a point where he can even take down enemies as strong as Code or Shinju in an instant.

From the previous generation, aside from Naruto's Baryon Mode, he has already surpassed every other ninja. Boruto is also far from his full power, considering that there is still that aspect of karma that he has barely used after the time jump. At his best he will most likely be a god level ninja.
