The Dragon Ball franchise is in a very interesting place in terms of power scaling at the moment. Ever since the Tournament of Power, the series' main characters are now far more powerful than they've ever been before thanks to their incredible transformations that make full use of their individual strengths.
Notably, the power scaling really took off during the Granolah arc, where the heroes and villains of the franchise had an astronomical growth in power. Even better was the fact that the power hierarchy of Dragon Ball was put very straight towards the end, so in this article, let's go over the 5 strongest characters in the Granolah arc.
Dragon Ball: The Only Saiyan Who Can Beat Black Frieza, Explained
No one has been able to match Black Frieza, but this Saiyan may be the only one who can beat him.
Vegeta realized his own divine transformation with Ultra Ego
The power of the destroyers
-
Vegeta realized the power of the Gods of Destruction.
In terms of offensive production, perhaps Prince of Saiyans is at the top of the list. Despite trying and failing to unlock Ultra Instinct, Vegeta realized that his strength lies in another path to power, leading him to train under Beerus to achieve Ultra Ego, the form that allows him to harbor the power of the Destroyers.
In the arc, Ultra Ego proved to be a formidable foe for Granolah and was even stronger than Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku for the opening parts of the arc despite being an incomplete transformation with glaring flaws. However, this also proved to be its downfall, as Vegeta's lack of experience with the form led to him taking too much damage and being defeated.
Granolah was an incredible villain and a powerhouse to fight

Went through several power ups.
Granolah was a character who had a lot of animosity towards the Saiyans due to his troubled past with them. Because of this, he eventually made a wish through the Cerealian Dragon Balls to become Universe 7's most powerful mortal warrior in exchange for the remaining years of his life.
At the beginning of the arc, this power-up was huge, as he was able to speed up and defeat Ultra Instinct with just a single hit, showing how great his power truly was. Although he would later begin to be outclassed by Ultra Ego Vegeta, he eventually caught up and unlocked an even stronger state that allowed him to overpower Vegeta. At the end, Granolah's final attack was about to kill Vegeta as well as himself.

Goku managed to unlock the ideal version of Ultra Instinct
In touch with his Saiyan emotions
-
The technique of an angel with the powers of a Saiyan.
When Goku achieved Ultra Instinct in the Tournament of Power, it was made abundantly clear that this was unlike any of his previous power-ups, as it required all of his emotions to be discarded in order to gain a calm heart and mind. As strong as this form was, Goku realized in the Granolah arc that he needs his Saiyan powers to continue growing.
At the beginning of the arc, Ultra Instinct had a worse performance than even Vegeta's incomplete Ultra Ego and was easily defeated by Granolah. However, towards the end of the arc, Goku realized his True Ultra Instinct form, which utilized both his technique and his Saiyan powers which were based on emotion, allowing him to be briefly stronger than Gas.
Gas made the same wish as Granolah, but even bigger
The main villain of the arc
Many fans were unhappy with how easy it was for Granolah to gain so much power, but the desire to become stronger at the cost of his own life was a central aspect of the arc. Gas made the same wish and eventually became the single most powerful League of Death in all Dragon Ball multiverse.
For a time he was weaker than the Saiyan and Granolah, but when he realized this, he released all his power and grew in strength exponentially, which happened so quickly that his own body began to decay and fall apart. Although he was stronger than his enemies for a time, the cost of becoming so was far too great.
Dragon Ball: Goku's Form After Ultra Instinct, Explained
Dragon Ball is no stranger to new transformations, and fans believe that Goku will get a new one after Ultra Instinct.
Black Frieza is the most powerful League of Death in the entire series
Return of the Galactic Tyrant
-
The strongest in the universe.
Frieza's disappearance from the main timeline since his return in the Tournament of Power was incredibly suspicious, so fans always expected him to return to the series sooner or later. But no one could have expected it to happen the way it did, with Frieza returning at the end of the Granolah arc with a brand new transformation.
Black Frieza was the culmination of the galactic tyrant's unparalleled potential. Due to receiving 10 years of training in a hyperbolic time chamber he found, he managed to unlock a transformation so powerful that he managed to defeat Gas, Goku, and Vegeta in just a single hit, despite all being in their most powerful states at the time. As it stands, Black Frieza is the strongest death league in the franchise, perhaps even on par with the Destroyer Gods.
