Naruto Uzumaki is one of the most beloved characters in all Boruto franchise, and quite easily the strongest ninja of all time as well. Naruto set his sights on becoming Konoha's Hokage, and although the journey was not easy, he eventually rose to the top.
Naruto Uzumaki has reigned as Hokage for quite some time now, but recent events in the Boruto many have seen to that Konoha gets a new Hokage. In the absence of Lord Seventh, substitutes for Naruto Uzumaki have lined up. Not all of them have the same potential, but some could certainly fill in Naruto's footsteps perfectly and do a good job of replacing him.
Konohamaru Sarutobi
Naruto Uzumaki's apprentice
Known to be the strongest Sarutobi at the moment, Konohamaru has been surrounded by powerful Hokage his whole life. He is the grandson of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobiand the apprentice of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Konohamaru himself wants to be the Hokage of Konoha and although it is not easy to achieve, fans know that he has it in him to replace Naruto Uzumaki. Konohamaru is still weak, but he showed great potential in the fight against Matsuri recently. He will continue to grow stronger in Boruto, and there will come a time when he has matured enough to replace Naruto Uzumaki as Hokage. Currently, he is one of the most likely candidates for the position of 8th Hokage.
Shikamaru Nara
The unofficial 8th Hokage
Right now Konoha technically has no Hokage. Naruto Uzumaki was the last official Hokage and after his disappearance it was Shikamaru Nara who officially took over. But, Shikamaru is not the real 8th Hokage of Konoha. He only works temporarily. Shikamaru refuses to officially take the position of 8th Hokage and he is also aware that Naruto Uzumaki is alive. It's highly likely that he won't be taking the position of 8th Hokage anytime soon, and might even be branded a traitor for teaming up with Naruto Uzumaki.
Sakura Haruno
The Apprentice of a Hokage
If there is a person who truly deserves to be Hokage i Boruto series while present in Konoha at the moment, it is Sakura Haruno. She is the apprentice of the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade Senjuand fans know that she is more than capable of becoming the Hokage of the village. Sakura is incredibly powerful, and she's also smart. She knows how to lead and she is capable of defending the village even better than Tsunade Senju since she went on to surpass her. Sakura would really be the best replacement for Naruto right now in the absence of Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto himself.
Sasuke Uchiha
The Other Hokage of Konoha
Known to be the Other Hokage of Konoha, fans know very well that Sasuke would also be a perfect fit for the position of Hokage in Boruto. The only problem is that Sasuke Uchiha is branded a traitor by Konoha and has been incapacitated by Shinju. That said, Sasuke Uchiha will likely return long before Naruto, given that the defeat of Hidari will take him back. Meanwhile, Naruto will not be freed until after the battle between Boruto and Kawaki. In that sense, Sasuke will return long before Naruto Uzumaki does, and when that happens, the possibility of him returning to the village and becoming the next Hokage increases. With his experience and above all his strength, Sasuke Uchiha would be the perfect replacement for Naruto Uzumaki as the village's Hokage.
Sarada Uchiha
Konoha's future Hokage
Konoha doesn't have a Hokage right now, and it's pretty clear to see how disjointed they are at the moment. But their future is already sorted, with Sarada Uchiha aims to become the next Hokage. Sarada is the best replacement for Naruto Uzumaki and she might just be the only one who can truly carry the torch of the Seventh Hokage. Sarada carries the will of Fire and she knows the value of every single villager.
She also knows how to lead from the front, given that she has done so on countless occasions. On top of that, Sarada is incredibly overwhelmedthanks to her recent awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan, with more powers to come in the future. She will definitely become Hokage in the future, and fans can be sure that she will replace Naruto well.
